Ebay, Craigslist Dylan Kent Tickets never received - Money wired through Western Union Internet
*Consumer Comment: NOTHING to do with ebay or paypal...
*General Comment: 419 scam...
*Consumer Comment: Common scam
The Seller listed tickets on Craigslist- then wanted to conduct the purchase through Ebay's Paypal. I received an email confirming purchase and wired money to the Ebay verified payment agent. Then the seller informed me that the tickets were on their way and would arrive in the morning.
Next morning I received an email from the seller saying that the person I wired the $$ to, was in a car accident and I would have to send another payment. When I refused, he said the transaction was cancelled. I never received the tickets and haven't received a refund.

NOTHING to do with ebay or paypal...

The Craigslist scams send phony emails using ebay and paypal logos. They also send links to fake websites. Paypal transactions are protected from this kind of scam. There is no such thing as an "ebay verified payment agent".
The poster was suckered into sending a money gram or similar to Lord knows who.

As somebody else noted, this is a very common scam. That's especially true on Craigslist.
I'm curious about something, though. You wrote that the scammer wanted you to pay through Paypal but later wrote that you wired the money. Does that mean that you didn't actually use Paypal's service? Did you get an email that was supposedly from Paypal telling you to send money via Western Union or Moneygram?

They got you to send an untraceable cash transfer to someone you don't know. It wasn't an "Ebay verified payment agent", it was just a scammer (Ebay doesn't work that way). If you have a look at the "avoid scams" link on the Craigslist you'll see a number of 'hits' :
You can sidestep would-be scammers by following these common-sense rules:
DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON - follow this one simple rule and you will avoid 99% of the scam attempts on craigslist.
NEVER WIRE FUNDS VIA WESTERN UNION, MONEYGRAM or any other wire service - anyone who asks you to do so is a scammer.
FAKE CASHIER CHECKS & MONEY ORDERS ARE COMMON, and BANKS WILL CASH THEM AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE when the fake is discovered weeks later.
CRAIGSLIST IS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TRANSACTION, and does not handle payments, guarantee transactions, provide escrow services, or offer "buyer protection" or "seller certification"
NEVER GIVE OUT FINANCIAL INFORMATION (bank account number, social security number, eBay/PayPal info, etc.)
AVOID DEALS INVOLVING SHIPPING OR ESCROW SERVICES and know that ONLY A SCAMMER WILL "GUARANTEE" YOUR TRANSACTION.
