Eliot Management Group EMG Takes advantage of small businesses... , Tucson, Arizona

This is a credit card processing company that markets itself as "local" and claims to have local businesses' best interests at heart.  It is not.  The representatives deceived me in order to have me switch from my old credit card processing service to them. 

They told me they had the best rates, and that if another company ever offered a better rate, they would match it.  When my old credit card processor offered me a better rate just as the Eliot "team" was reprogramming my credit card terminal, they stalled.  They assured me they would do "all we can," and then a week later informed me that I would have to wait SIX MONTHS for a rate review.  When I called this "local" company's headquarters (which was in fact several states away), I talked to a rude woman who informed me that actually I would only have to wait one month, and that I had apparently been misinformed. 

By then it was too late, I was locked in to the contract, and when I called them to cancel my service they hit me with a $600 fee. 

You may wonder why I didn't contact my old credit card processing system BEFORE the Eliot guys reprogrammed my machine.  The reason is because the Eliot representatives told me I must not contact my old processor until the machine was being reprogrammed (which would be a week later), because otherwise my old processor would cancel my service, leaving me without the ability to accept credit card payments at my store.  I was naive to take them for their word, because apparently this was flatly untrue.  Even the rude woman who I spoke to at the headquarters admitted this was false. 

Do not sign on with Eliot Management Services, they will take advantage of you.
