Emerge Credit Card is a ripoff scam with useless employess. Atlanta Georgia

I had a getsmart credit card which was sold to emerge. My interest rate went from 14.9% to 29.99% when it was sold. I was not informed of this sale till I checked to make a payment online.

I had the account for awhile and did pay it off once. After I paid it off my credit limit was reduced without notice. After that, i continued to use the card. I made my payments on time except for one occasion. I was late for a few days. They called and asked if I can make a double payment, which I did.

I called to see if my payment went thru and they told me, my account was under review and I couldn't use the card. I was to supposed to receive a letter in two months explaining why it was under review. I received nothing.

I just recently called and asked if my card was still under review and they told me my card was expired. I asked why, to one of the useless representatives who can hardly speak english. He told me he doesn't know why and he is sorry for the inconvience. I asked for a name of a bank representative I can speak to and he said there wasn't any one. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he put me on hold for a half an hour, I hung up. This company is a major rip off. forget a payment and see what happens. Thet call you toot sweet. I don't think its legal to sell an account to another credit card company and not tell you.

I don't think its legal to raise your interest rate and not tell you. you can't get any answers out of anyone of the representatives. I can't use a card I paid off once all ready and I am keeping up on my payments to them. all my payments are being sent out by priorirty mail, so i know they are getting there on time. My account balances seem too never go down.

There should be a way where everyone who has been ripped off by this illegal credit card company, to sue them and get the money back from them. I think if enough of us got together and sent email out to lawyers and the Better business bureas, something might get done. Something should be done!!!

I went after a bank once with a good lawyer and I won my case. Almost the same deal, except my payments were going in someones pocket and not on the loan. Let's see if we can get people together who all got ripped off by this company and do something about it.
