Engels Towing & Recovery Stolen Car Re-stolen by Engels & damaged Puyallup, Washington

My 1994 Acura was stolen overnight & was recovered with no tires a few hours later. I responded to the private property owned by a local business and advised not only the PPD but also the Engles tow driver I was not signing a damage waiver & made arraignments with the private property owner to leave the car there until we recovered the wheels that had earlier been posted on craigslist.

A few hours later & a sting operation with the PPD & APD the thief was arrested & the wheels recovered. However we could not take the tires since they are a part of an on gong investigation. So we called a friend to get loaner tires & went straight to the property owner to advise that we will be getting tires & removing the car. 

When we arrived there the car was gone, the owners advised us Engels towing had towed it away & that they were told incessantly by the private property owners to leave the car & the property. The driver refused & dragged the car onto the lift. There are drag marks on the ground & pictures taken to prove this. 

The Puyallup Police admitted they screwed up & tried to get Engels to release the car, they refused the property owners tried & finally my insurance agent said to let them deal with it. 

I went to Engels to recover my grandson's car seat & some paperwork needed, some guy who insisted her was the owner/manager was rude from the second I stepped foot in the office and told me if I give him $800 I can claim thje items not the car. Im human I was rude right back.

 I advised him several times both drivers were told to leave the car & property by the owner & that the owner had called Engels to advise that the driver(s) were told to leave, he adamantly denied the calls that occurred right in front of me, denied the car was drug even thought I have pictures of the drag marks on the cement, denied Engel's Towing has been fined more than $20,000 over the past four years for breaking state towing laws. Further more the owner of Engels is a Bonney Lake judge, Judge Ron Heslop. Not the man who claimed to be the owner.

These people have caused so much turmoil in my life that I now have to take the time to take them to court & recover the money it is costing to repair the damage they did. I hope that when my friends & family peacefully assemble outside of their establishment it drives home that this kind of business isn't wanted in Puyallup or any other city for that matter.
