Booked a week rental online for $119.79 + taxes & surcharges on 9/3/14. Airport rentals were as low as $70 but chose Enterprise's off airport location because of better than average online reviews. Picking up was excellent, no lines and Vincent's customer service was engaging and efficient. When asked if i wanted optional insurance coverage I declined stating I already had excellent coverage thru my insurer Allstate for which Enterprise was a preferred vendor. So, signed and Xed as directed by Vincent. Returning car today 9/10/14 noticed an additional charge of $118.93 which agent Darren said was for insurance coverage which I had accepted with one of the Xs. Explained that Vincent had been specifically instructed that said coverage was declined and had made a "mistake" including it in the contract. Darren agreed to refund the charge subject to supervisor approval. Checking my credit card activity tonight noticed that no refund was issued and an additional $310 charge from Enterprise was listed. OK, now I have to play games with management to correct the charges and possibly research the possibility of filing a CRIMINAL FRAUD complaint.

Social Media damage control guys...

OK, todays credit card statement shows mysterious $310 extra charge removed and $118.93 refund posted, but I'm still out the 13.25% taxes levied on the refund amount. So Chris and Nick, if you want to do your job, you can expedite that refund, as it might soften the online reviews I will be posting,

Also, I'd still appreciate a first name of the perpetrator of the $310 charge posted. Otherwise, I, and perhaps other readers of this report, could assume that fraudulent overcharging is not isolated to certain individuals, but is condoned or even promoted by ENTERPRISE RENT A CAR management.

Nick, my report was already detailed enuf if you wish to follow up. Have already phone conversed with Tower Road agent Devan (Darren was in error) today who assured me that excess charges would be removed but it might take a week. When I asked about also refunding excess taxes based on the bloated $238.72 sub total he replied that the taxes were calculated only on the base rate charge of $119.69 and therefore not refundable. One of two tax charges 6% of $120 = $7.20 while actual charge was $14.93. A second tax charge of 7.25% was $18.03. Got it? Since I addressed the overcharge issue within minutes of checking out it would have been more efficient to have cancelled the charge and replaced it with a corrected one. But no, agent Devan decided to issue an inadequate refund stiffing me for tax overpayment.

So, Nick, if you really want Enterprise to prosper based on customer satisfaction, STOP OVERCHARGE PADDING! Rather than you and I having a confidential dialogue, lets put it HERE in the public eye. I'd like to know who posted a second $310 charge in addition to the bloated $295.68 which was originally booked online at around $169 total including surcharges and taxes.

BTW, the following are criminal acts in Colorado: Unauthorized use of a financial device, (obtaining)Signature by deception, Issuing 2 or more false financial statements(felony!).
