Some kid came to my door saying he was involved in the contest associated with Entrepreneurs Across America. Wanting to help out I ordered a magazine.
Because I wanted to discuss it with my husband afterwards, the kid said he would not fill out the back side of the reciept so I would have some extre time to cancel. When I tried to canced, I received a letter back rejecting my request.
A phone call to the company was useless. The operator/customer service person acknowledged that the kids coming door to door could lie and misrepresent the EAA company but that the company its self would not honor their word.
She tried to make me feel dumb and ignorant for not thoroughly reading all the fine print on the receipt and trusting the people they choose to represent them. She even said "you should have been smart enough to know the guy was lying." No joke!
She said that the door to door reps filling out the extra notice was a "courtesy" to me. Well my signing the front was a "courtesy" to them saying that their rep hadn't stolen my check and that he really did stop at my house.
The operator refused to transfer me to her supervisor saying that there was no one else I could talk to concerning the matter. Also, even though I didn not want the magazine, I would still be "forced" to reveive it.
Finally, after several minutes of trying to make me feel stupid and to 'just give in' and not do anything about the issue she sent me to her supervisor's voice mail. It has now been over a month. No one has tried to contact me and I can't get through to anyone.
This is a scam! Anyone that refuses to allow you to cancel with or without a fee is being dishonest. If a company is having so many issues that it can't contact me to resolve anything then it must be doing something wrong. Furthermore, I did not appreciate being told that I should have been smarter BY THE COMPANY ITSELF!!!

Door-to-Door Salespeople are Scam Artists
AUTHOR: Kathy - (U.S.A.)

The vast majority of door-to-door sales pitches are scams. Never buy from them. (Well, except maybe the Girl Scouts.)

Advertisers above have met our
strict standards for business conduct.
