Buyer Beware: If you visit Vallarta Gardens Resort in La Cruz (Puerto Vallata) Nayarit Mexico, do not buy the "exit" vacation package they entice you to buy.  The program is call Explore Your World found at www.exploreurworld.com

Among other parts of the vacation program offered is the ability to convert "weeks" into travel credits worth approximately $800 each.  We bought a program with 200 travel weeks that we can convert through a company called Timeshare Properties of Atlanta (TPA).  TPA says it will take 180 days to convert weeks into credits.  We paid over $2000 for the program.

After finally getting our accounts number from Explore Your World, I deposited the first 10 weeks (maximum) with TPA.  TPA says we cannot have any of our "credits" deposited until they sell all the weeks we deposited.  It has now been more than double the time TPA said it would take to "sell" our weeks to convert to credits.  They have had 1 more week out of 10 to sell since October.  TPA said then that it would be final in a couple weeks.  It is now almost March and still not credits.

This program is now smelling of fraud.  I have repeatedly asked them to just deposit the 9 credits they have sold, but they wont.  I have asked since December to have my account manager to contact me and he, Mark Harvey, has not called.

I will retract this negative feedback if Explore Your World and TPA come good on the program offered that we spent our money on with them.

Timeshare cancellation

AUTHOR: margaretsims90 - (USA)

The best thing you can do is to cancel your timeshare contract. There is no resale market for timeshares; you can find timeshares on eBay even for pennies. There is a good article about: http://www.timesharescam.com/blog/206-how-to-get-out-of-a-timeshare/

Another Victim of Explore Your World

AUTHOR: Canadian Traveler - ()

POSTED: Monday, March 31, 2014

Our experience with Explore Your World and Timeshare Properties (TPS) of Atlanta has been identical to that reported by Vacation Minded.

In February 2013 we went to a timeshare presentation at Vallarta Gardens Resort near Puerto Vallarta and upon exit purchased a vacation program from Explore Your World.  The package was purchased at a cost of $2000 and offered the conversion of weeks purchased to airfare credits.

In March 2013 we made a request to convert the annual maximum 10 weeks to airfare credits.  At the time we were told it would take up to 120 days to complete the conversion.  After considerable delay and excuses, in October we were told that nine weeks had been converted.  When we offered to accept the nine and forgot about the one week remaining, we were told that they could only release the full 10.

It has now been more than 1 year since we made our request.  Repeated requests to TPS for an explanation remain unanswered.  This program very much appears to be a scam.
