Ok, I was searching "acai berry" for some information on this latest trend in weightloss (I lost a lot of money not pounds). My search returned an unknown number of matches. I looked at a few, but the one that caught my attention was the one titled "Oprahs Acai Berry Diet". I clicked and read the story of "Becky Edwards" who had lost 42lbs on this diet. She spun a tale of how "AcaiPURE Power cleanse" and "Wu Yi Green Tea" helped her lose weight. Under a caption that read "Try my diet if your stuck in a rut" she stated that both products have amazing free trials with a FULL money-back guarantee. She paid shipping only that was less than $5 per bottle.

At this point I'm thinking I'll give it a try for less than $5. So I clicked on the link "Free Bottle of AcaiPure Power Cleanse". This took me to the Extreme AcaiBerry website wwww.secureeasypay.com/estremeacaiberry/). I filled out the portion that urged me to "Try it Now! Hurry! - Just pay $3.95 S&H. I received an email from "AcaiPure Receipt (noreply@centralcoastnutra.net)" thanking me for my order and it gave me an order number. It did not specify how much would be charged to my debit card. It did go on to say that I should receive my shipment "in about 1 week". It's been 10 days and I still have not received my shipment.

I checked my online banking account the next day and saw that they had debited my account for $44.85. This made my radar go up. I sent an e-mail to the address noted on my receipt (support@centralcoastnutra.net) requesting a correction of the charges and if they couldn't do that they should just cancel my order. I received an auto reply stating that they had received my e-mail inquiry and for me to allow them 24-48 hours for a response. Again, 10 days later and no response.

I contacted my bank and told them the situation and filed a debit card dispute form. In the mean time the extra $40.90 that was debited from my account has cost me an additional $280 in OD fees. The money for the OD fees was to be used to pay my phone bill, guess what...disconnected. The bank told me that they would investigate and notify me of the outcome, but it could take up to 10 business days.

In the mean time I make a phone call to a number stated on their "terms" as customer support. The first couple of times I called the automated voice said that the wait time could be in excess of 77 minutes!!! Who has that kind of time? I call back one more time and only after 35 minutes I did get to speak to a human. After telling him my story he tried looking up my information under my phone #, first and last name, address and order #. He couldn't find anything in his system indicating that I had placed an order with this company. They sure got my debit card number, and used it!

I'm mad and trying everything I can think of to get some satisfaction from this ugly mess!

I got caught in the exact same scam...I wish I read this last month!

I am currently caught in the same cycle. I read the same email and thought I was getting a one month supply for shipping costs of $4.95. I thought it would be worth a try. I received the one month supply (I haven't even opened it yet) with a packing slip that stated free trial and the shipping cost, no other information. Today I saw on my online statement a charge for $79.95 with a vendor that I do not recognize. I checked that email address and found a phone number...they are a billing company...they gave me two 800s for Power T -- the supplier. I have called numerous time this morning...left two messages and sent the email as requested. I'm still waiting. There was nothing on the web site that made this scenario clear. I'm sure it was in the fine print somewhere??? because I saw a similar setup on another sample I was going to try. I did not order that sample because I did not want to commit to an ongoing purchase. So now I'm trying to figure out how to cancel the membership, how to get my money back, how to get someone to answer the phone. It's definitely a scam. If it was a reputable organization, they would not do business in such a sneaky way.

We are having the same problems but we didnt order anything at all they somehow got our credit card number. What we are doing is we hotcarded our bank card which you need to do and have filed papers to reverse the charges. We were also told to go to the police and report it becuase it is a known scam. You can read up on others that have had similar problems at http://acaiberryproducts.wordpress.com/2008/09/03/avoid-acai-berry-weight-loss-offers-scam-alert-part-2/

They might have answers for you in the mean time go to the FBI internet fraud website and file and complaint there also. The one number that we did get ahold of someone on was 1-801-208-7485 his name was chris and he seemed to think he was above all this and wasnt much help but maybe you can get somewhere with it. I hope that helps...
