Glenn at EZ auto in somersworth NH sold my sister a 2001 GMC Jimmy, after my sister stated she was a single mom and needed a reliable vehicle. She spent 3900 on this vehicle Glenn told her he would have it state inspected (I was there to witness that). The vehicle failed inspection and my sister was told to drive it for 100 miles and then come back to see if it passed inspection.
My sister called daily with no return phone calls from Glenn. On Friday March 4th her transmission went and the vehicle would no longer go in reverse. She called Glenn crying to explain the situaltion and reminded him of the promise of the state inspection which she has in writting and he said she bought the vehicle AS IS and there was nothing he could do. My sister then brought the vehicle to a mechanic which stated that the transmission had been in this condition and there is no way that EZ auto could have had no knowledge of this as the fluid was topped off to try and hide the problem. Glenn stated to my sister that this was originally the owners vehicle but later recanted that statement and said it was his son's.
I hope that this story and the others about EZ auto in somersworth will persuade anyone shopping for a vehicle away from this BAD dealership. There are enough complaints I think action needs to be taken against them soon.

EZ auto is a rip off

Really you bought a few cars from there? Or do u mean u work there? Seriously the car cannot take a sticker because of the transmission because the check engine light is on. So although u feel the need to stick up for this company which is ripping people off and calling it whole sale be my guest. The point is my sister went in there and explained her situation and they took advantage of her. 2 machanics have looked at the vehicle and the same thing was said the issue with the transmission was purposely covered up and there is no way they could not have known since they over filled the fluid and such. Also if ur going to sell whole sale then you should have whole sale prices. Glenn is scum and tries and hits on women when they come in. I know he did it to me and a few others I know. He is going to catch a sexual harrasment law suit if if dont stop. They also wouldnt give it a sticker cause it failed inspection (emissions) which was the transmission so they knew the whole time. They told her drive for 100 miles and come back to get an inspection. She did that and they would not answer her calls. Then she went down there and they said their machanic quit. HAHA seriously this place is a joke and thats the reason they went from seacoast car club to EZ auto they had many negative reports about them in the NH auto club through the BBB.. I called! I will never go there and will make sure everyone I know does not go there. Word is getting out fast I spoke with a car dealer at a Rochester location and was telling him about the situation at EZ auto and he stated he worked there for 1 week and quit because of their shaddy practices. SAD this company is out for profit and has no respect for anyone as long as they make a sale. the owner should go to business school he may learn a few things. KEEP YOUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY AND THEY"LL RETURN! They are making themselves a bad reputation.

I too was had by the same dealer. Had the same problem with the inspection, only my trouble was emmissions and ball joints and wheel bearings. same story...I spoke with NH DMV, they are telling me to write a letter of complaint with all identifying info about car/ people involved, and with enough complaints they will pull the license for selling and for inspecting cars. They ALSO told me that as soon as the dealer puts temporary tags on a vehicle, they are LIABLE...they are not supposed to put tags on the cars if they are not inspected. I encourage all who have been dooped by the shady dealings of EZ Auto to do the same and lets shut em down!!

May have just needed some tranny fluid

This vehicle may have just been low on tranny fluid, due to a small leak. Try not to let the mechanic rip you off. You may just need to have the filter replaced and new fluid put in. I recommend synthetic.
Good luck!

Do you know what a safety inspection entails?

I've bought a few vehicles from this dealership and I am amazed at the people who don't educate themselves. First of all, EZ Auto is a wholesale dealership. In giant letters in the lobby you see a sign that says, AS IS NO WARRANTIES. If your sister failed to see this gigantic sign then surely she must have noticed it in the various documents that she was required to sign in order to purchase the vehicle. I've read them and been told by Glenn himself as I read them that there is no warranty.
But here's my real problem with this whole complaint. You say that she brought it to a mechanic. Did the mechanic mention to her that transmissions are not part of a safety inspection. That even if EZ Auto had looked it over for a safety inspection it never would have included the transmission, per the state of NH's safety inspection requirements?
http://www.doj.nh.gov/consumer/sourcebook/auto_inspec.html
"NOTE: The inspection is geared to the safety of the
vehicle, not to its operation, so items like the engine, clutch, and
transmission are not included in the inspection"
I understand that your sister is a single mother and probably on a limited income. But maybe she should have educated herself on exactly what as is means before she signed all of those papers and handed over the money. $3900 is a lot of money to spend on anything without doing your research. And if she is like many people I've met who drive a vehicle knowing full well that it's making weird noises she probably heard banging noises or had the transmission slip before it went completely. Transmission don't just stop.
