I fianced a car from Fair Deal about three months ago. I no longer have this car because they have repo'd it. This car is not even worth $1500. We i got the car they promised that they would fix everything that i wanted fixed. So i told them about the check engine light being on while test driving the car.
The told me that it didnt mean any thing but that they would look at it. a hour after getting the car i called the salesman and they told me that i had to keep the car because it was on contract.
I returned the next day to Fair Deal to get my inspection sticker. thats when i let them know that the driver window did not come down, the car stalled on me several time on my way home from the business as soon as i drove off the lot.
I took this car to the shop to get looked at.. The car had no motor mounts, there was 139K miles on the car, the transmission was slipping and the hoses had holes in them that had been taped up.
I tell everyone DO NOT GO TO FAIR DEAL AUTO SALES THEY DO NOTHING BUT RIP PEOPLE OFF!!!

Why does everyone take the car to get inspected AFTER they buy it? It's too late then. Buying a used car and signing the "as is" sheet that is usually required, seals the deal in most cases. It doesn't sound like your shop had too much trouble recognizing that the car was junk. Spending a few bucks before signing on the dotted line can save thousands in the long run.
When you sign the paper that you are accepting the car "as is", you are saying that the car is acceptable to you in that condition. Don't sign it unless you have had the vehicle checked out.
