FarmTek Garage collapsed Dyersville Nationwide

In October 2016 we built a 14'x14x36' long hoop style outdoor strorage building kit from FarmTek.  Its called Solar Guard Storage Master Building and cost approximately $5,000 plus 5 days for two people to assemble.  Ietm # PB00520R4N.   After a 6 inch snowfall most of the the roof collapsed.  The fabric covering was ok.  It was the steel framework that simply folded under a minimal load. The storage garage was assembled correctly and according to directions. 

When contacted, the company said the roof needed to be cleaned off after "a couple of inches" snowfall and there was no warranty.  There was nothing with the box that said the roof needed to  be cleaned.  Nor does their web site mention this.  

As the roof is round it would be very hard to clean, a snow rake would probably rip it, and couple of inches could fall every 20 minutes some winters. Pictures of these units on their website show boats etc being stored. Nobody is going to clean these off after a couple of inches of snow. The company's  snow cleaning response comment contradicts their catalog which said the unit is designed for snow and performs much better in snowy climates than less expensive competitior products. 

Since last September when I bought the unit, their website now says in BOLD RED type people should upgrade to a unit with 3' spaced ribs, instead of 4' spacing if they live where it snows.  That wasn't a suggestion or option when I bought mine 5 months ago

The company must have had other problems with these units.  Do not buy from this ignorant, untrustworthy and irresposnsible company.  I will replace the unit with a metal building.
