Would you give $495 to these people? 

Federal Business Partner claims to connect small businesses to local federal purchasing agents and prime contractors.  She asked if I'd like to talk to their specialist so I said yeah.  A man called me back and said for $495 I could have my business listed on their site, www.fedbizpartner.com, where government officials and prime contractors go to make small purchases  Seemed a little suspicious.  I searched some public records and here's what I found, you can draw your own conclusions:

- Federal Business Partner (FBP) is registered as a "Florida Profit Corporation" in Florida to Corporation Service Company.  It's status is inactive due to dissolution of annual report, meaning they didn't pay their annual fee and can't legally be in business. FPB is also registered with the federal government's central contractor registration (CCR.gov) in 2009.
- Corporation Service Company is a "Foreign Profit Corporation" registered in Florida (1989) to United States Corporation Company (USCC), which seems legit by a basic web search. 
 - USCC is registered in Florida to THE PRENTICE-HALL CORPORATION SYSTEM, INC..

The man claimed that FBP was given a contract from the federal government to set up a site to better connect the gov't with small, local businesses.  That sounds very fishy, because the feds already have GSA Advantage, and why would they have a company charge $495 to list on it? The website is totally geared towards selling the company's service to businesses, not to serving the fed buyers.  They have nothing to support their claim that government purchasing agents and prime contractors use their site.  If they call you, or you pay for their services, I'd contact the Secretary of State office in Florida.
