Recently I reviewed my credit report and found that an old fingerhut bill, which had been paid, was showing am amound owed to another company for a different amount.
When I attempted to contact the company I was inable to locate them and then contacted fingerhut and was told that the account was sold to another company and they didnt know who the company was.

The only information I was able to find was a PO Box on my most recent credit report.

I searched the address and was able to find more information about this company's fradulent behavior then information on how to satistfy this account.

I hope I could be of help to someone else and if anyone has info to help me I would appreciate it.

I have a number you might wanna call

I am in the same boat that you're in. I did get the same P.O. Box number and a fax number of (320)229-8583.

I also called 411 and got this number to Compucredit Corporation in Saint Cloud, Minnesota (320) 229-8499. I will be calling it right now.

Well, I called the number. The number is valid, however, it's an automated system and if you still want to talk to someone, you still have to submit in writing.

I hope that this helps at least a little.

My account was paid and it's still on my report. It's reported as not having a balance left but it doesn't actually states that it's "paid in full"

DO NOT SEND THE COLLECTION AGENCY A DIME!!!!!!!!!!!

All you wil be doing is "reaffirming" a debt that you do not likely owe and will get the clock started again on the Statute of Limitations as well as reporting on your credit report for another 7 years. You cannot "satisfy" this as bottomfeeders are never satisfied. You will have your "account" sold time and time again, as they figure you are an easy mark. You are the victim of a junk debt buyer.

Send them a letter, make them validate...it is not your job to prove you don't owe this...it is their job to prove that you do. Also forward your letter and any correspondence related to this to your state AG.
