i had the worst experience ever instead of getting my moneys worth i my car came in the worst condition.i sat in the lobby for 4hrs without any status of my car like you're suppose to get from a professional business.i came in there with a full tank of gas without any car noises but instead i had no gas and my care sounded loud like i had muffler problems.i got my car 10min to 5:00 because i had to finally say i have to be a work a 5:00 otherwise who knows what time i would have gotten my car back. I got to my job at 5:00 because my job is not far away from the place. But I called right away when i noticed that i was left with 1/4 of gas when i filled it early in the morning before i went to school. it only takes me 15mins the most to get to school so when i got out of school i went straight to firestone and still had a full tank of gas. I had to call the next day because blake the manager was not in. i called the next day and spoke with him which was not pleasant. i got treated like some female that had knowledge of cars whatsoever. he told me he could not explain what happened to my gas or why my car sounded loud or why i had a dirty grease rag in my back seat on the floor. i told him i know how my car sounded when i got there and i know i still had a full tank of gas after putting 40.00 of gas in the morning. after so much arguing he said he would only give me 20.00 and not 40.00. i went as far as the main corporation in chicago and still nothing. when i finally spoke to the district manager he was very condisending and rude. i went back to provide the crapy job to blake the manager and he said that i had a hole in exhaust. i told him my car did not sound like nor did it sound like i might need a new exhaust. but he said that is what happens to cars when they get old and offer to fix it. i told him there is no way that i would leave my car after my service i received. so i just took it my friends mechanic. he was very honest, nhagia is his name. i left my car in his hands and after he called me that my car was done he asked me what did i do to my car. he first said to himself did i hit something and he said i could not been something i did. so when i went for my car the first thing he asked me what did i do to my car. i said i took it to firestone to get a fuel cleaning and spark plug replacement. he said that explains everything, he said he like to play detective and find out how things happens. he said that probably when i got my fuel cleaning done and the machine that pressurizes and if you're not carefule could expand the gas tank. he i had first called him and told that i needed a new exhaust for my toyota camry. he at first thought i must have been talking about the flex pipe because in a camry he said that the flex pipe gives out first before the exhaust. he saw my exhaust leak and saw that it needed a gaskit so when he and his cowork were trying to line up the exhaust pipe with the converter it would not line up. he was like was is going on but when he looked at the back end of my car, he saw that my gas tank expanded out so when he tried to line the pipe it would not. he said that is a space between the gas tank the exhaust pipe but in this case there was no space at all. he has to bang it inwards inorder to get the exhaust pipe to line up. i told him of my experience at firestone and the dirty back seat. he told me to watch him and see what he does. he said see this, he wiggle my seat then popped it open and then he said see this your screws are not place in correctly. i asked him what that was he said it access to your gas tank. he said they must have realized what they did and tried to cover there mistake. he said that explains the amount it took to get my car and the grease stains on the seat and the noise my car all of sudden it made. i had asked him if my exhaust had a hole because that is what blake the store manager had said. my friends machanic had said that because the gas tank was sitting on the pipe and busted my gaskit that i did not need an new exhaust just another gaskit. before this car was purchased which was in illinois my brother who knows about cars check it out. the guy who was selling it provided a carfax which provided proof that the car had never had any kind of damages. i know i have been wrongly done and am seeking some kind of justice and to let the public know what kind of service they provide. my friends machanic said we all make mistake but it takes an honsest person to own up to it.

While the situation could have been handled better by the stores management, your issues with the fuel tank is not Firestone's fault. Fuel system tune involves cleaning the throttle plate, adding treatment via the gas fill neck, then running the car at 1500-1800 rpms with an IV drip of cleaner going into a vacuum source on the engine. (usually brake booster hose)
The only time I have seen a gas tank swelled is when the vent had been pinched closed. The gas sloshing around caused pressures to build and expanded the tank. NOW the exhaust noise COULD have been caused by firestone if the Camry sits low enough. When pulling in or out its not uncommon for the exhaust to rub the lift on certain lifts possibly flexing it enough to damage gaskets or bend hangers... However because the store loses money when a claim is filed the acting manager would more than likely say look its our fault we will replace your damaged exhaust free of charge.
Now carfax has no history of if someone does a fuel pump on a car so its possible the access cover had been off before she even purchased the car. Now here is the kicker... how much is gas there that you had been able to get $40 in gas into a 13 gallon tank? Also to properly do a FST the car runs for anywhere from 20-80min... at 1800 rpm being a smaller car Im betting had a slow drip to prevent hydrolocking the engine and Im not sure but tuneups on some Toyota cars require removing the intake plenum to access plugs. hence the wasted gas & long wait. Cant say the tech and management did everything right but one things for sure the OP has been misinformed...

"he said that probably when i got my fuel cleaning done and the machine that pressurizes and if you're not carefule could expand the gas tank."
Fuel injection cleaning adds NO pressure to the fuel tank. In fact, the fuel pump is turned off(remove the relay), and the pressure regulator is closed off to prevent any of the cleaner from being sent to the tank. The cleaner is under it's own pressure and regulated by the tool itself. I repeat. The fuel tank is completely out of the loop.
Now seriously, why did the fuel tank get removed? The only reason to go inside the back seat area is to gain access to the pump connections. Most shops will undo them from the inside, then drop the tank to remove the pump. This prevents gasoline from being spilled inside the car. This also explains the loss of fuel. The tank is drained before removal. The only place to store the fuel is inside the waste oil container, so you lose anything more than 1/4 tank. just as you did. The exhaust is removed to drop the tank, just as yours was.
Your friend likes to play detective, and so do real mechanics. Among the fuel injection cleaning and spark plug replacement, you also had fuel pump issues. This is why they dropped the tank. Whether you needed a new pump is not the issue at all. Your real complaint is that you lost 3/4 tank of gasoline, and they failed to reinstall the tank and exhaust correctly.
Why do people from MN have problems being truthful when it comes to auto repairs? Glenn?
