Florida Aviation Academy Jack Fitzgerald Owner/Operator Very rude and unprofessional. Pompano Beach Florida

First let me explain how I eneded up at Florida Aviation Academy,  I currently hold a single engine private pilots license.  I decided that I wanted to further my education and get a instrument rating and then go on to get my commercial and CFI license.  I had already completed my Instrument training elsewhere when my current instructor fell sick and could no longer provide flight instructions.  so I contacted Florida aviation academy in regards to completing my instrument rating.  they said no problem and set up a schedual for me and asked for a thousand dollars in advance for the holding of a DPE which is 600.00 and the remaining 400.00 would be used toward flight time.  after I arrived at the accademy the first day it was decided that I should use the simulator which was fine,  then the next day I was placed in a acual plane for 2 hours then later that evening they didnt have a plane available so they put me back in a simulator.  after the next morning they decided they didnt have the plane I used previously so they had to use another plane which was set up differently. It was then that I decided that doing thing this way was going to be way too overwelming for me and I would need to seek this training elsewhere.  they  ''being people at the academy''  then became very rude wanting me to stay there and spend more money in the simulator.  the owner Jack Fitzgerald told me several times I could not ''hack it'' so now Im wanting to bail out.  then it gets even better,  when I get my bill I see a charge for 1.5 hours of ground school that I didnt even recieve,  all kinds of fuel sur charges which is not even possible due to the plane was pre-rented and the crazy cost of $234.25 per hour.  when I refused to pay for the ground training he literaly closed the door to the office and refuse to let me leave unless it was paid.  it was then I became very defensive and he thretened to call the police, I told him go ahead I would expose hi for what a crook he is.  they ended up removing the ground school charges then they wanted cash only, I refused that as well so once again they decided to take my credit card payment.  so, put in short this place only cares about putting you in whatever they have to fly at the time or the simulator which is a $152.25 a hour. everything they charg you for is way over priced and I have never seen a buisnes so rude toward anyone..  also after looking around at the facility I learned why I had to use a different plane daily,  there main focus is on foriegn students.  they have roughly 10 of them there all the time and those are the ones paying big bucks, so anyone local will always fall last at this academy.  I hope this saves someone else from being a victume of Florida Aviation Academy!!!
