My son took my car into Formula one Autocentres for four new tyres

on Friday 29th April 2016, I was unable to take it myself, due to commitments in the home.

Saturday 30th of April, I recieved a call from my son, telling me that when he drove the car back to me, it was drifting to the right hand side on a straight road.

I went out and drove down the road, to find that he was right it was now drifting, since having the tires fitted, it had now developed a problem it previously didn't have.

That same morning I rang Formula one to arrange an appointment, hoping to get it corrected the same day, as I was afraid it might be a road safety issue, they couldn't fit me in, they were too busy.

That Saturday, I took the car to two other garages to check the tracking as I was worried, they told me the tracking was well within the tolerance and was fine for now, didn't need doing yet.

Sunday 1st May 2016 I took it back to formula one, explained the drifting problem, the man at the desk went out to put the car on the ramp, to check the tracking and tire pressures.

He told me that the tracking was out by 2and a half and needed correcting, I told him he was wrong, the car had just been checked by two reputable garages, who had said the tracking was fine.

The man was adament that the tracking needed doing, that I would have to pay for it, that the drifting wasn't something they had caused, I was just as adament that they had caused the problem, as it had only occurred since the new tyres had been fitted, and therefore I wasn't going to pay to have it corrected when they had done it.

The man adopted a very aggressive attitude and looking round his staff to see they were witnessing it all, I asked what he had set the tyre pressures at, he asnwered that he had set them all at 25!...even my wife knows that you set the front tires at a different pressure to the back and she's not even a driver!.

I was appalled, at the staff, at their lack of customer aftercare, at their unwillingness, to repeatedly try, to correct a fault they had caused,  if they had redirected the passion of aggression they were directing to me, and applied it to correcting the car, it could have been solved in half the time, and I wouldn't have felt compelled to warn others who might have been contemplating giving them thier custom in the future.

On leaving dissatisfied and still needing to sort the drifting,somehow, I called in at another garage further up the road, to re-check the tracking again and get another print out to compare it with, they re-checked it, told me it was fine and was within the tolerance, they felt it would be wrong to recommend it now, as it didn't need doing yet.

If formula one autocentres say that my tracking is out by 2 and a half why did they not comply, with their company policy stated on the back of their invoice, that state,s checked tracking/alignment will be re-adjusted if necessary, free of charge within 28 days of purchase, well I did purchase...four new tires....which caused another money making problem, it didn't have when I first took it in...!!!!
