We had a driveway installed in June of this year. When they pulled the forms the some of the concrete fell away. I called immediately and was promised someone would be out to take a look.
I called every week and still only promises. I talked to a young lady in the office. I guess she was tired of me calling and she gave me the phone number of a person named Andro, so I called him, same thing no results only promises.
At the end of July we noticed 2 cracks in the brand new driveway. So I called again and again and again. Finally Andro said he would be out by 9:40 a.m. I made arrangements to take the day off work. He never showed up. I called and of course I got his voice mail on his cell phone. Which I had gotten quite frequently when calling.
The next day I called back to the office and the girl contacted Andro, he said it had been turned over to Martin. So I called Martin immediately.
Explained that I had 2 cracks in my drive and he said that they would epoxy them. I said it is a brand new driveway that we paid over $4000.00 for and epoxy is not exceptable, he said this without coming out to see the driveway.
I asked him when he was coming out. He said it wasn't necessary, I told him oh yes it was necessary.
He did come out and he said that they would epoxy the cracks but they would look worse than they look now.
This is totally unacceptable and we want them to replace the top half of the driveway and to do it correctly this time. After they put in the stone. It rained for a week and when they came back to pour the concrete they didn't retamp to make sure the underlayer of the drive was still compacted. There was dirt and stone down at the bottom of the drive that was washed out from the rain.
The only solution is to replace the top of the drive carefully as to not wreck the bottom of the drive which looks very nice. Also the garage floor finishing was not smooth. but we let that go because we thought at the time that they did a great job on the drive. Sorry to say we were wrong.

It's ashame that people use this site to complain and never write both sides of the story.
I hired Fortis for my job and they were great. Very professional, polite and really took the time to explain the work. Andro even came back 6 months later to see how the job completed work looked, I was really suprised. The office personal was great to work with
as well. I would call them again.

With respect to my customer, I (Andro) did go out to look at the cracks. What I also noticed was tire tracks on the driveway fro a car 3 days after the job was poured. Can concrete or for that matter asphalt , crack, yes it can , if one looks at our conctract before they sign it they will notice that we don't guarantee against cracking, chipping or discoloration.
This is because I don't know what is taking place with the concrete work after we finish the job. If some one really, really needs to get thier Mercedes out of the garage sooner than 7 days.
What can I do.

We had our Driveway poured by a fly-by-night operation and it peeled and flaked away. That job costed us $7,000. When we called to complain, we could never get a response from anyone and so we were left with a mess. What we found out later was that the company never existed.
We called Fortis Concrete and they came out immediately and priced us based on material and labor only. The next week, they had our Permit and poured our new driveway by the end of the week.
They also Stamped & Colored the driveway to make it look even better than what we were paying for. Thank you Fortis on a excellent job done !! NOTE: ABC Extreme Home Makeover ...If you are in Chicago, this is the company to use !!!
