Freedom Power Electric Company rips you off & has rude customer service - BEWARE FortWorth Texas

I thought I would try Freedom Power, I saw them on TV. I handle alot of foreclosures and needed the electric turned on.

I had to call them because you can't sign up online. I was told by the rep. how much money I needed for activation & set up which was $79.00. Of course they won't take credit cards, debit cards or checks. You have to go Wal-mart or some place that has moneygrams. She also said that when they receive the money they will turn on the electricity.

Well after a few days I sent a crew to clean out the house. The crew said there was no electricity. I called Freedom Power-you get put on hold forever-and told them the situation. The rep said oh you have to send more money to get it turned on. I had to send $35.00 more through moneygram. I also asked why no one notified of this.

Within a few days I received an email saying if I did not pay them an additional amount of $214.00 in advance which was good for a week they would disconnect the service. I asked how they could do that since it was not turned on.According to the company the amount was based on bills from last year. I explained this house was vacant and got into a verbal fight over the money situation.

I said to cancel it because I was not giving them one more dime. I also asked about a refund. I was told that if there was any money left besides the $79.00, they would credit me the remaining amount. The customer service rep was rude and talked to me like I was stupid, and basically said I was lying because I told her I was not told the truth about the payments worked.

Don't get sucked into this company-you will wind up paying more than you were told. I basically ate the money I had paid because I have not received any sort of credit. I did receive another disconnection notice a few days ago. This company is crazy and should not be allowed to take advantage of people. Beware!
