GLA Collections Extorting money from people Louisville Kentucky

 I have been fighting with GLA collection for the past 3years. I have provided proof that a debt is not owed. They still refuse to remove from credit report. When I asked if they would call the original creditor they stated they are not required to and that i should pay them money. I tried to even perform a three way call with their representative and the company they were reporting for to verbally tell them this was paid. The GLA representative hung up. The debt was for 112.00 doctor visit which was paid by my insurance. It was paid before the time frame allowed. GLA has started a new program to help doctors manage accounts. This is a rip off as they are using this to extort money from the doctors clients. Today I recieved the last correspondace from them and they stated that if I give them an X amount of money they would report to credit bureau favorablly. If I do not then the representative said she would do what ever it took to ruin my credit. She was very angry at one point saying I was being very uncontroulable. I see that there are others avenues to take so I will have to move to an attorney. I don't understand why peoples futures are determined by a system that allows this activity to go on. I understand if you owe money then you are liable. But when you send proof of a error you have to still fight to get your life back. Why and who governs these people?
