The Global Water Company has a government allowed monopoly of water supply in Maricopa Az. You have no choice in who to get water from. These type of companies should be controlled by government as there is no competition to regulate price consumers pay. This is against the tradition of the free market economy and has historically been regulated in America to protect consumers. If you want to shut your water off for a period of time while you are away you have to pay $70 to resart service.

Then you have to pay the $80 per month for every month that you were away anyhow. So if I shut my water off for 5 months I must pay $70 to start service and $80 x 5 for months that I did not use their service. In other words you can't suspend service. There is not even a rebate for water conservation. This is a inefficient government allowed monopoly.
