Go Doers unethical business practices ripoff Severn Maryland

It's that time of year for those wonderful people that go door-to-door selling magazine subscriptions. My neighborhood was their target.

First I got the story that they were single mothers trying to make a living for themselves without going on welfare. I was told that they were from Louisiana, New Orleans to be exact. That they were trying to get back on their feet. And as a young mother I fell for it.
I was told numerous stories. When it was all said and done I had written a substantial check for three magazine subscriptions.

When the ladies were ready to leave they asked me what they had said that got me to buy. First sign that I had just made a big mistake. I don't think one thing they said was true...they just wanted to know what to say to the next SUCKER. Then after stepping away from my door the lady said jokingly, "And don't cancel because we know where you live."

I called to make sure of what had to be done to cancel and during normal business hours I got their recording saying they were closed and to call back during business hours. I tried to FAX my cancellation and found out that their fax number is not in service. Finally I got a gentleman on the phone who assured me that the fax number was working. I told him all that was said, and I told him to take note of my address because I never wanted anyone from their company to knock on this door again!

He assured me that if I wasn't happy they wanted me to be able to cancel. I told him not to worry that I had already stopped payment on the check...so one way or the other I was going to cancel.

Stay AWAY from Go Doers Inc. If you see them in your neighborhood RUN! Since checking into this company I have found that they have almost 200 complaints with the Better Business Bureau in the last 3 years. Multiple complaints on ripoffreport.com and I also found an article about how they hire Sex Offenders and when one of their sex offenders commits a crime on one side of the country they just uproot them, send them to the other side of the country to do it all over again.
I will be letting all my neighbors know the startling facts about this company. I hope no one else falls prey to them.
