Godfather Construction, LLC Svaras Roofing, Inc. dba Godfather Construction, LLC, Freddy Miles, Steve Anderson, & Thomas C. Kamin ripped me off, a senior citizen, out of a patio cover and awnings from hail damage, Skokie, Illinois

In April 2010 we had a bad storm and my home incurred hail damage. I hired Godfather Construction and Freddy Miles to be the contractor to replace the roof, gutters, siding on the garage, awnings, and patio cover per my insurance company's estimate.

I signed 2 contracts, one for the roof replacement that they did fulfull although it leaked by a vent cover at one point and they claim that they came out and fixed it although I never saw anybody come back out. The second contract was for the awnings and patio cover and I did give them a deposit of $3,024.95 in July 2010 for which they did come out and erect a type of patio cover, although it is not the right size and nor is it erected properly. It is not plumb or level, it is not bolted down and is therefore floating, and it has a 2 foot gap in the middle where now with all of the snow that we have had it is sagging in the middle and is dangerous now.

Freddy Miles came back out to inspect the patio cover in August and agreed that it was not the right size and the craftsmanship was poor. He agreed to replace it with the correct one and I have not seen him since. He has returned a few phone calls and in November I cancelled the contract with himand am having a new company put up the correct patio cover and awnings. Freddy did agree to refund my deposit, but to date I still have not received a check.

This has happened to a few of my neighbors also and we had NBC news come out and report the story. It aired on 12/15/10 at 10:00 p.m. on NBC. We are also going to the police and the States Attorney.
