One more unbelievable SCAM situation related to Extended Auto Warranty. I was reading the Ripoff happened to Joe and National Warranty in AZ and it looks like all operates the same way.
I received a lot of phone call from this company Consumer Direct Warranty Services about their fabulous Extended Warranty just perfect for my car and the mileage (it looks like they have all the information on the vehicle, and my name address and phone # even the expiration time of the dealership's warranty) after several calls, I finally decided to buy their product; there are three companies involve in the whole process; Consumer Direct Warranty Services (who is in charge of the warranty), Great Atlantic Warranty (who is the seller) and Mepco (who is in charge of the billing) I was not aware of this until I filed my claim; Now I'm pretty sure they do this because they want to forward each other the responsability of your complain until you give up.
I specifically remember that I asked to the person at the phone (seller) if this policy will cover the transmission and the engine of my car regardless of the mileage and year mainly because I know these are two of the most expensive things to repair, and this person (seller) confirmed to me several times that this components will be covered so this makes me take the decision to buy the product. the seller told me I will receive a package with all the info at the mail soon which I received like 3 weeks later, by the time I opened it and read it, one more week had past and my cancellation period was ended, however, how could I identify that this policy was not appropriate for my car if under coverage says: torque converter, oil pump, governor, bands, drums, planetaries, sun gear and shell, sprags, shafts, bearings, shift rail, forks and synchronizers but does not includes clutches and seals which according to the dealership's technician these are the most common damaged components then he mentioned that if the policy does not cover this then is totally useless. Ones I contacted Consumer Direct Warranty Services, they told me that my transmission was not covered and would never be covered because the mileage of my car (02 Durango 108K miles) the person at the phone even told me that how can I expect that my warranty will cover something like this and recommend me to cancel the policy right away (after I already paid $600+) and go and complain whoever I want. also the warranty company wanted, as one of their requirements, that the dealership took the transmission apart so they can send an inspector and if he find out that the clutches were damaged I will have to pay for the job (the technician told me that for sure the clutches were damaged) the person at the phone told me that I will have to fix the transmission anyway so it doesn't make any difference if I had to paid. all this is so frustrating that I don't know what to do or where to go.

Consumer Direct Warranty Services: Extended Car Warranty are USELESS

I got an unsolicited call from Dealer Preferred Warranty, telling me that i could get an extended auto warranty on my EXPLORER that already had 74K miles on it.
CLASSIC Bait and Switch!
The offer was for an extended warranty for an additional 5 years up to 250K miles. All i had to do was give them my credit card over the phone and they'd process the order and send me a big package with all of the details and the ability to cancel at any time.
I said no and then found this website. I don't know if Dealer Preferred Warranty is really part of Consumer Direct Warranty Service, but judging from the other complaints i've seen about CDWS, i wouldn't be surprised. Alternatively, Dealer Preferred Warranty could be another scam outfit.
Beware of the extended auto warranty policies and heavy pressure tactics they use on the phone to try to get your credit card.
So now my Transmission goes out and they will not cover it... Why it wore out and it was not covered under warranty. I paid them and now i got to pay for a transmission!
I got screwed by Consumer Direct Warranty Services and DIRECT CHOICE Warranty Services.

Clutches are never covered under any plan. If the Mechanic think they are then he obviously does not do any warranty work, and that means that he knows nothing about it to begin with. As far as the plan, you had a chance to look it over before you bought it. You had 30 days to cancel, and you didn't. you obviously didn't check on the reputation of the company before you bought the plan. You should have 1. Checked out the company. 2. Read the contract 3. Had a mechanic look at it (before you bought the plan). If you didn't do this, that's on you.
