H/A Air Conditioning Inc DBA Florida Air Duct Cleaners Bad install, defective unit, no service, accused me of tampering with unit, freon leaked out in under a month Miami, Florida

In April 2001, I called this company to service my older but still functioning central A/C unit. They told me it needed replacing because of mold, it was a dinosaur and it used the old type freon. The unit was getting on in years so we agreed on what I felt was a fair price and had them install a new Rheem system. The unit stopped cooling after a month! After several phone calls and an appointment that they failed to show up for, they arrived and told me the unit had to be regassed. First they accused me of tampering with the unit and that's why there was no freon left, then they accussed the neighborhood kids of huffing the freon out of the unit, they then told me that the electrical hookup need updating ( the electrician told me it was fine) and finally they told me it was my fault because the drain was blocked (checked and it was clear). They put 3 pounds of freon into the unit, charged me for it and the unit worked fine for a few more months before randomly shutting down again. After a great deal of hassle, they came back and fixed the unit again and now it has stopped again. I called the company and started to explain the problem and they hung up on me! Tried calling back several times but it went to voicemail. I left messages that were not returned. I called with a different phone and finally got somebody to answer the phone this morning and was told I was being transferred to the person that could arrange for a service technician to come out and was immediately cut off. I tried calling back again several times and got the voicemail again! This company takes your money and runs! I would think Rheem might be interested in making sure their products are be properly installed and serviced. Not sure where to go from here. Lawyers are expensive but this company should be put out of business and Rheem should be responsible for fixing this unit.
