I bought a 2015 Landmark 365 5th wheel made by Heartland owned by THOR. I have been RV'ing for over 30 years, have owned several and been around them a lot. The Landmark 365 is beautiful to look at, the floor paln is great. That is where it all ends. For the first year that I owned it I didn't get a chance to use it much, the warranty is only good for a year. The qulaity of workmanship is not in Heartlands job discription. I am on a 4 month trip around the United States with this 5th wheel, this trip is why I bougth it, I had a 2002 Newmar Mountian Aire that I should have kept, never in 12 years of owning it did I ever have anything go wrong with it.
I am in week 8 of this trip and this is what has gone wrong so far. i will just make a list because it will be easier for you to read rather than go into a lot of detail about each thing. (1) There is beautiful wood trim on the ceiling, it all fell on the floor. It was put up with 1inch brad's (nails) into 3/4 wood trim into a piece of foam insulation on the ceiling with no glue.
(2) Fresh water tank when traveling spills out most of the water out of the tank, when you get where you are going you went from a full tank down to 1/4 without ever using it. On this trip I have spoken to 5 other Landmark owners and the have all said the same thing.
(3) This unit has house refridge in it, first off the unit comes with 2 batteries, those 2 batteries will keep it running for 4 -5 hours before they go dead. If your are traveling in between parks and have to spend the night dry camping, good luck. The refridge door only opens 90% rather than 180% because it only open 90% you can't open the drawers inside of it, they hit the door. Did no in the factory think of this before they built it?
(4) The 1/4 hard plastic hose to the ice maker is connected to the slideout, once the slideout is used 3 or 4 times the hard plastic hose breaks in half, well of course it does.
(5) The wall between the bathroom and the kitchen, on both side has pulled apart. You can be in the bathroom and look into the kitchen and vice versa. Again they use stapes and not an ounce of glue. Did they not know that when traveling the 5th wheel bounces...a lot. the stapes work there way out.
(6) Latch on the TV. The TV is made swing out, it has a latch on it to lock it, the nut on the latch came off while traveling, the TV swung freely and of course when I open the door the TV screen was shattered. I couldn't find another TV that exact size to fit back in the hole it was in. Now it is much smaller tahn the one that came with it.
(6) The shower mainfold behind the wall started leaking water into by storage bay. The nut holding the cold water side on were not tighted.
(7) The kitchen faucet would only work on the spray side, not the even flow of water, and not it wasn't clouged, just poor quality.
(8) The two main slides outs worked fine for awhile, in and out smooth. Now, to bring them in you push the button, they come in a foot, wait 10 seconds and repeat. Both slides every time.
(9) The sofa has a hide a bed, every sleeper I have ever used the back of the sofa is like your head board, this one has a 2 inch elevation difference bewteen to foot of the bed and the back of the bed, the foot of the bed is 2 inches higher ( the head board side) so to sleep on it you have to sleep with you feet touching the back of the sofa unless you ant to sleep uphill. If you are tall this is not an easy thing to do.
(10) I used to awing three times, on the fourth time one of the awings pulled away from the slideout. They used self taping scews into very thin metal and fiber glass again with no type of glue. I can no longer use this awing. the scews were desinged to by used on much thicker metal.
My trip is only half way over, who knows what is nextl. i would never buy another Heartland (Thor) product again.
