HeliosMedia hires people as work from home agents that assist people in furthering their education. I worked there for about a month and a half. The training is about 2 hrs. But there is a lot of information to learn and remember. So, the training period should definitely be longer. In taking inbound calls, there is a yodler/automated voice that conversates with the prospects and transfers the calls over to us.  So, they can't comprehend or have a response when the lead says that they are not interested, already enrolled in a school or tells them not to call anymore. So, when we get the calls, we can only click "not interested" if the customer doesn't qualify because they don't have an email, and no high school diploma/GED. But if they don't qualify for any other reasons, we have to click "interested", get to the second page and select the correct reason why they don't qualify. The problem is, when we do that, it lowers our conversion rate. They don't have the system set up to where we can ask all the qualifying questions first before we click "Interested." Then, agents are penalized and eventually terminated for low conversion rates when it isn't their fault that it's low. The calls cross up and drop when the yodlers transfer the calls over. The calls dropping is repetitive. And HeliosMedia won't do anything to resolve the problem.

When we have a lead that is interested, there are several clients that we have to go through in order to submit that lead to a maximum of 3 schools. The problem is, our call time can't exceed 15 minutes. If it does, the call is rejected and we don't get paid for the schools we submitted that leads information to. This rule is one of several reasons they have created as an excuse not to pay us the small commissions. They are extremely picky and they don't communicate the changes they make to the QC reps (the people who monitor and score our calls). But my thing is, if we submit a client to schools, HeliosMedia is getting paid for them. So, why can't we get paid for them? Another problem is that we will submit to a few schools in the database and it will say that the leads information was successfully submitted. But then when we get back to the page with all the leads info, it will have a red X beside the school saying it was not accepted. So, we won't get paid for it even though you saw the page where it was accepted. Hmm.... Strange. It's clear that we were being set up to fail. It's no way that our performance can get better with all those rules and the way they they have things set up.

Also,

I and others suspected that there were discrepancies in the hours we worked and our pay. I questioned mine because I usually put in my schedule to work 11 hours. I usually take an hr break and two 20 minute breaks and still end the day with only 6.5 hrs or less out of a supposedly 11 hr shift. I questioned Laura Morgan about possible inaccuracies in my hrs and pay. A few minutes later, the dialer kept hanging up on me. I tried to log out and log back in and got an error message saying "Invalid Credentials  Contact your administrator". Shortly after that, I got an email from James Smith saying that I was terminated due to a poor conversion rate. But, I was promoted to a higher tier about a week and a half ago because my conversion rate had increased. Clearly, I was fired because I questioned inaccuracies in my hrs and pay. I don't get it. They will fire people for asking about their hrs and pay and other stupid reasons. But then the next day, they literally beg people all day to get on the phone because people will schedule to work and never show up. I predict that HeliosMedia will only be in business for about 2 more months. 3 months at the most. They suck!! I hate that I gave them so much of my valuable time that I can never get back. If you are looking for work at home opportunities, DON'T WORK FOR HELIOSMEDIA!!!
