I got excited by trying a free and freewheeling web site called Hitwe. I tried it the first day and a surprising number of women said they were from Ghana or lived in Ghana even though their profile pictures were of Caucasian women. Some when confronted admitted thet weren't who they said they were or told stories like "I'm protecting myself so I used my girl friends picture.

That was only the beginning. The women try very quickly to get you into a "hangout" or private chat room. Their profiles usally are of elderly women  in towns the woman doesn't acknowledge when confronted. I got into a few "hangouts". I met a"Michelle Larbi" who I later saw was a pperson by that name exposed as a scammer here.

I also met a "Claudia Sampedro" who in real life is aCuban supermodel but told me she was a biomedical student at Kings College London studing in Nigeria. They both subtly asked me for money. "Larbi" said she needed money for her birthday party and when I refused she said she did"t have a cell phone and I could give her one for a present. "Claudia" said she needed money to get home from Nigeria and did"t have the funds.

Theu both sent mildly seductive photos and "Larbi" and other women on the site get into flattering terms and use "you are the love of my life" type statements. I started declaring that things smelled fishy on the site and I was kicked off. Here were classic signs of scamming : sweet talk; semi-hot photos; said age did't matter; pledging quick interest; and getting around to asking for money.

They did not get me needless to say but I was looking for a place to warn my fellow Netizens and I saw your website when I Googled "Larbi". This may not be the proper forum but if it isn"t please tell me how to get this website investigated and possibly shut down.

I had a similiar experience. I stayed on the site for a week. Almost every woman was from Africa many saying they were from the US but now in Ghana with every kind of excuse or made up story you can think of.

The woman I met initally claimed to be from NY. She had a 5 yr old son. Shortly after moving me to hangout on gmail  she told me she was stuck in Africa and needed 500 to cash her check which looked bogus anyway. Then she showed me her passport trying to prove she was real but the passport had many problems with it and the passport number came up on a scammers list with a different person named but the same number. Other problems also with the passport too which I will not mention but mainly spelling and missing things a real passport will have. I continued on with her saying I won't send any money to Africa. Then she asked me to send it to her Nanny in the USA. She gave me her name and partial address in NY along with a phone number. I tink it was a google number and no one ever answered. Now here is the kicker when I would refuse her she would send these pis of her and her son looking so sad. It was hard to resist the emtional feeling this woman tried to invoke in me.

Let me say this loud and clear to all men or women on here: Never and I mean Never send money to anyone from a dating site Absolutitly Never!!! No matter how good the story is no matter how good he or she looks its all a scam.

To the second guy who wrote a rebuttle on this first article. I believe you work for the website in some way and are possibly another scammer agin misleading people. I spent lots of time on this site and maybe possibly met one real woman but she was from so far away it wasn't funny. This site is a cesspool of scammers, thieves, liars, and cheats find a good dating site with a good reputation if you are serious about meeting someone. good luck to all!!

My own experience

AUTHOR: Edward - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, July 14, 2016

There are different people on Hitwe. I chat to people from India, England, Russia and other countries. They have their own pictures and I can prove it. I exchange photos with these people and I found them on Facebook and Instagram. If you say that people on Hitwe are fake than me and you are also fake? Then why do people write comments about it, some people like it some don’t but it’s okay.  People just want to communicate and make friends. For example, there are millions of dark skin people live in Europe and England but it doesn’t mean that they are fake. It sounds like the author of this post is using another dating site but not Hitwe. I was registered at Hitwe for 6 months and I found it very smart and interesting. I liked the option to find people by location. There are a lot of similar dating sites that allow looking for people nearby but in my experience some of the sites weren’t precise. Hitwe works perfect and always defines the location of members 100%. This is how I’ve met my girlfriend Candice. I saw her pictures, she looked amazing. We started to chat and when I checked her location it turned out that her office wasn’t far from the place where I work. I invited her for a dinner and we are together since that day. So, I can only express my gratitude towards Hitwe.
