An Idearc Media Rep spent her entire week calling my business leaving obsured messages that if I didn't call right away, I would not be able to be listed in the local directories. I did call her and upon each ad I chose for my small company, she said it wasn't good enough, I needed to have bigger ads, I told her I would cancel everything is she didn't stop pressuring me. finally I agreed on 5 directories with small ads. The rep said I would receive proofs of the ads they designed and I would make any changes and sign off on proofs before publishing, after several weeks, I asked where the proofs were, the response was" art work takes time, be patient". Thus realizing the hurry to buy ads was a ploy.

after a month, I called a manager who said she would get me the proofs. The next day I received my first book, The ad was horible! I called and they assured the rest of the books would be better and I would see proofs before publishing, the second directory, the third and the fourth came out before they sent me any proofs, all with the same horible ad!

They assigned another rep to my account who did give me a color proof and I accepted the ad. The 5th directory was printed and of course, it was printed in grey scale in lieu of color which makes to a really bad ad. NOW, after a year of talking to customer service reps, one after another, I get harrasseed by collection agencies on behalf of Idearc who demand payment.

So far, I have been asked to pay for the bad ads and they will make up for it next year, WHY WOULD ANYONE TAKE THAT OFFER? then, I was told, "your # is correct, your address is correct and your name is correct, there for you received services rendered and you ower payments in full. I ASK YOU, if you brought your car in a shop for an oil change and they put a new engine in it without your knowledge, would you pay for it or should you be liable?

NO... When companies are this powerful and take advantage of small bussiness, they should be punished, they should have to pay double of thier charges back to the customer for their neglect. They should be fined by the comunications commission for making mistakes that a 5th grade teacher would not tollerate from thier pupils. SOME THING NEEDS TO BE DONE! Why would Verizon allow this?? When you call verizon, they take no responsibilty to ideac, but sure as hell when the collection agency calls, they sure do put verizon's name out there like it should scare you into paying for something you didn't ask for. Well this guy doesn't scare, They say I owe $1,350.00 for thier neglect and stupidity, well America, I will pay way more then that before this is over to prove this company is wrong, wrong, wrong,, "can you hear me know?" WRONG!!

threaten to take them to small claims court. Only email them for documentation purposes your experience.(in a professional manner of course). Do the same to the collection agency, and the calls will stop, I think they are called them stop and desist letters. Believe me, if the collection agency is not part of the scam, they are on your side. Imagine having to call people when you felt that they being scamed, but it is your pay check..... Act as if you are a reporter and collect evidence, in case you need it. On yeah, don't call them. The people that take the calls can't help you anyway. They are using bully tactics to scare you into paying for something that they can't deliver. Refuse to pay for something they didn't deliver. Total scam.
