So, InsurMark claims to have positions available for all levels to their job recruiters. That is not true. They have one position available that everyone starts in no matter what - the sales recruiting position (from the president's own mouth).

You go through the first interview with their hiring manager Randy Yost. He is a good interviewer but lies to your face and has no problem doing so - more on that later.

On the second interview, you meet with the President, Carolyn Luby, who isn't afraid to cross professional boundaries. She let me know she's going through a messy divorce without me prompting for that information.

Also, everyone at the company I spoke with, and even the recruiter, let me know that she is very difficult to work with...red flags all around. Oh, and be prepared for a random person to walk into that interview and begin staring at you and taking notes. The president didn't even bother introducing this person.

For the third interview, Randy had already let me know that since their sales work was done exclusively over the telephone, I shouldn't worry about what to wear - just come as you are. Verbatim, he said, don't worry about your dress, the panel doesn't care.

So, I went about working (they only give you 48 hours to prepare) on the phone presentation. They had me come in, and I pulled out my multiple pages of scripts, product information, and objection answers that I had written from scratch and studied the entire allotted time.

I went through the phone call in standard sales mode, addressing their "no time" objections and resisting talking about product before they were sold on me and the company. They said they would let the recruiter know.

Guess what the recruiter said?
They wouldn't hire me because I didn't appear prepared for the interview and I was dressed in business casual. HUH???!!!

So, now I've wasted about a month in their pipeline only to have them lie to me on many occasions throughout the process. This company is BIG TROUBLE and I would recommend you stay away from them unless you want to spend your career being lied to and the first six months as a telemarketer.

Professional Service

AUTHOR: kfdenali - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, August 05, 2011

To Owner / Carolyn Luby,

This report is filed on behalf of several professionals that we work with. In keeping with our extraordinarily high ethical standards, we cannot confirm that the person you reference is working with our services.

The individual in question and mentioned specifically in your report could be one of many that we have received negative comments about your firm from. This individual has, however, contacted us privately to ask that we assist him in removing his name from this report thread. Since our initial report speaks specifically to your lack of professionalism, it is ironic that we need to ask you to remove all references to any of your alleged career candidates.

As to the supposed account differences - be aware that we are a watchdog organization that works with many professionals throughout the State of Texas Insurance Industry. Any references and accounts collected are verified through a rigorous process. The initial report is intended to be personalized but is an amalgamation of more than four different reports that we have received regarding your company throughout the years.

Regards,

The Support Team

Jonathan Denning/My apologies

AUTHOR: Carolyn Luby/InsurMark - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, August 01, 2011

Dear Jonathan,

After reading your complaint, I wanted to truly apologize that you feel that you were wronged in our interview process.  I spoke with your "recruiter this morning, and verified that it was made clear to you and all other candidates that all sales positions start at the recruiting level.  We are a company that promotes opportunity to advance quickly once proven.  In fact, the majority of our successful sales staff has started that way.  We have found in order to quickly increase income to six figures the intern process helps give the foundation needed.  I also apologize that you feel Randy lied to you in regards to the appropriate dress for your presentation.  The dress would have been fine if it were business casual; however I am not sure that jeans fit into that category.  In regards to our interview, the random person that walked in was Jeff Maxey who is our VP, Senior Sales Consultant.  Maybe by me giving you his name that may jog your memory that he in fact was introduced in fact he even shook your hand.  In regards to sharing my personal situation with you, you asked me a very personal question and I willingly responded by respectfully sharing, because I am so honest and open to all of our future and current employees.  As I mentioned we are a family oriented company and I failed by sharing with you.  Again my apologies.  Bottom line this job isnt for everyone, we are very selective as we spend tons of time and money invested in our people.  So- yes I can be hard to work for because I expect to coach people to levels of success and income that I feel they can achievesorry you werent one of them.  Up to the time of the presentation you were a top candidate for employment but our decision to not move forward was solely in the outcome of your presentation.  If you would have blown it away, we would have overlooked the attire.  Good luck with your search I am sure that with your skills you will find the best position for you.
Humbly Yours,
Carolyn M. Luby

This report is corroborated at glassdoor.com back in 2008. This has been going on for a long time. See: http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Employee-Review-InsurMark-RVW335426.htm

I think they have slipped through the cracks since they only have 40 employees and most people when they leave are so disgusted that they don't even want to talk about it.
