On October 3 2014 I signed up for a 95 cent 7 day promotion intelius was having,  the 1 day I used intellius a total of about 4-5 times and only managed to find one person with them. Even my information was wrong, my dob was incorrect,my mother is 64 but intelius has her listed as 81 and my brother is 36 yet intelius has him listed as 51. I also searched for a friend and the only address listed is an address I know they haven't lived at in years. Due to this I decided that intelius was useless and decided to cancel there service. I couldn't do it online, so I spoke to a representative who informed me that after 7 days the account will be cancelled. I also took the initiative and changed my credit card information online just incase this company decided not to follow through with cancelling the service. I signed up for the 7 day trial using an American Express card and I changed my credit card information to a MasterCard that I no longer use. Well today 10/23/2014 20 days later I  received an automated text from my AE card stating a charge of $19.95 has been charged to my card. I looked online at my transaction history and a company called Inome is listed, so I googled it and discovered Inome is actually intelius. Now since I know I changed my credit card information to an inactive card I was confused as to how they still managed to bill my active credit card, so I signed on and the MasterCard is listed as  the card used to make payment, I even looked at the receipt and  it says payment 10/23/2014 $19.95 MasterCard, last four number of the card listed. And the time it was done was 2:49 EST. I

really don't know how they did that because both cards ends in four different numbers yet I have the proof that although one card is listed with them, they kept my other credit card information and charged that one. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB because I know my account should've been cancelled, and they fraudulently charged a card they shouldn't have even charged. Just goes to show even if you change things they keep your credit information anyway.
