I've been an Intuit GoPayment user since 2012 and had no issues with them until recently. On May 20, 2013, my account and identity was stolen. Someone got a hold of my login info, went onto my merchant site with them, changed all of my business and banking info and put phony and ficticious information in replace of it. After that was done, this "someone" charged a few payments to different card holders, one being a person that goes to the gym I work at. Her card was charged in the amount of $499 and it was done under my businesses name before they made the switch!

Intuit never did a security check to reverify the new business and banking name put on file! I use Square also, which is another mobile merchant service, and anytime a change is made to your account, you must verify the changes are made by YOU: Intuit never did this!!! They accepted the changes the SAME DAY!

No since I don't use Intuit much anymore, after this women came into my gym complaining of a fraudulent charge on her account, I logged into all of my merchant accounts to see what was wrong. Low and behold, there is was, a $499 charge to her and it was deposited in a ficticious TD Bank account NOT IN MY NAME.

Intuit never even verified to see if this new bank account was indeed mine!!! With Square or Paypal, when you add a new bank account, they send two small deposits to that account in which you much verify on the website in order to add it.

I cannot believe the lack of security. I was fired from my job and Im sure this poor woman went to the police to file a report and now she's out $499 with no way of getting it back. I got a letter from TD stating that I do not own an account with them so that I can be eliminated from this scenario.

But if you are thinking of opening a merchant account with them, I strongly advise against it! They provide no security for your information nor the information of anyone that has involvement with you. If there is class action suit in preparation, please let me know ASAP!!!

I am sure I will be going to court one way or another over this matter and now I will have to fight to get my job back. Thanks for reading and I hope someone out there can help.
