INITIALLY WE PURCHASED 2 OF THESE LOUSY HAIR STRAIGHTENERS,... THEY GAVE A GREAT SALES PITCH AND DEMO.SELLING POINT WAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY. NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY BOTH QUIT EMITTING HEAT AFTER JUST OVER A YEAR'S USE.
PAID ABOUT 125.00 EACH.
I TOOK BACK AS EACH ONE BROKE, AND TOLD THEM I WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE MY RECEIPT. THEY SAID THEY DID NOT NEED IT, THEY CAN TELL BY SERIAL NUMBER WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED.
THEY RELUCTANTLY REPLACED BOTH AFTER I PAID THEM AN ADDITIONAL $32.00 FOR EACH.(NOT AT THE SAME TIME).
THE LAST ONE I REPLACED WAS 2 MONTHS AGO.(DECEMBER 08)
I TOOK BACK IN TODAY AS IT BROKE A MONTH AGO, ONLY LASTING 1 MONTH,BUT WAS JUST NOW ABLE TO FINALLY MAKE IT BACK IN.THIS IS SUCH AN INCONVIENCE TO HAVE TO RETURN THESE PRODUCTS!!
THEY TRIED TO GET ME TO PAY ANOTHER $32.00!!! I REFUSED. THEY STATED THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE WITHOUT RECEIPT EVEN THOUGH THEY COULD CLEARLY SEE IT WAS IN BOX AND BRAND NEW CONDITION.
I REMINDED THEM OF THE SERIAL NUMBER. THIS TIME, THEY WOULD NOT LOOK IT UP OR ACCEPT MY WORD. I ASKED FOR MANAGER. EMPLOYEE CALLED MANAGER AND SPOKE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE WHILE IN FRONT OF ME ALTHOUGH HE SPOKE ENGLISH TO ME.
HE STILL TOLD ME NO ON EXCHANGE. I STATED I WANTED TO SPEAK TO HIM, SO HE REDIALED, AND THE GUY ON OTHER END STATED HE WAS THE OWNER, BUT REFUSED TO TRADE FOR A WORKING ONE, AND EVEN MORE ODD TO ME , REFUSED TO GIVE HIS NAME.
I STATED, "YOU ARE AN OWNER AND REFUSE TO GIVE YOUR NAME"? HE SAID I DID NOT NEED TO KNOW THIS. HE GAVE ME THIS WORD, WHICH MADE NO SENSE TO ME EENNAMOLL AND THIS NUMBER.. 713 782 0444 WHICH I AM PRETTY SURE IS FAKE AND HE KEPT SAYING IT IN A VERY LOW VOICE AS TO WHERE I HAD TO KEEP ASKING HIM TO REPEAT IT MANY TIMES.
THIS COMPANY IS A RIPPOFF. PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE, HIDE NOTHING.
IF THE GUY HAD HALF A BRAIN, HE WOULD HAVE EXCHANGED IT FOR A WORKING ONE. DONT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. JUST PAY THE SAME PRICE FOR THE (((competitor's name redacted))) WHICH IS MUCH BETTER AND HAS A BETTER NAME BEHIND IT.
I CANNOT BELIEVE AN OWNER OF A COMPANY WOULD NOT BE WILLING TO GIVE HIS NAME TO A CUSTOMER???????????? THE QUESTION IS... WHY?? I WILL BE CONTACTING OTHERS FOR SURE.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. ISO Straightener Experience
AUTHOR: Tia - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Monday, September 28, 2009
On May 22nd, 2009 I took a trip to the Mall of America. I did not plan on making any major purchases. I was approached by a woman at a Kiosk that looked to be demonstrating Hair Straighteners on people passing by if they were interested. I am a person that straightens my hair every day and lately I had been noticing that my straightening habits were really taking a toll on the way my hair looked. I let the woman do a demo on my hair, and she showed me many of the different things it could do such as straighten under, flip your ends out, or even curl your hair with a swift turn of the wrist. She showed me the difference between cheap hair straighteners and the ones they were selling. I bought it, and she gave me a deal. As advertised, the straightener had a price of $130, she said she would give it to me for the price of $96.21. I thought I was getting a good deal with her taking about $30 off the purchase. She told me that there was a lifetime warranty and I could exchange it if there was ever anything to go wrong with it. I was mad at myself for buying such an expensive hair product but it seemed to be doing it's job and my hair seemed to be healthier; it didn't get as dry and break all the time.
Today, September 29th, 2009 I called the numbers that were listed on my receipt and brochure for the product. The other day, the ceramic part of the straightener (on one side) FELL OUT of the straightener. It is still connected, but it was literally hanging out by a wire in there that provides the heat to the unit. I wanted to see what could be done about this. I was hoping to get a replacement since I did not cause this damage, it was simply a faulty product; I had the product for only 4 months! I called a number on a business card that was given to me first, this number appeared to be legit, however when I called it did not work. The number was inoperable. I preceded to try and get a hold of SOMEBODY I could talk to. I called about 4 different numbers and finally gave up; I figured I would try earlier during the day. About 10:30pm, my phone rings. It is a number coming out of California. I answered the call and a man asked me if I called ISO (the brand of the hair straightener), I was pleased someone was getting back to me but also quite confused because I had not left any messages with my number asking anyone to get back to me. I told the man about my situation. (I would also like to note that during this entire phone call, there were overwhelming sounds in the background of wherever he was residing. It sounded like the man was at a party or something, weird) He seemed to be annoyed that I was bothering him with such a petty issue, which in turn, made me very upset. The man told me that I could send my straightener to the warranty address listed on the brochure along with a check for $29.99. I was appalled at this price because I had already paid so much for the straightener itself. And on top of that, where was my $29.99 check going? What was that fee for? It says the fee is for postage and handling on the brochure. I don't ship things very often, but I highly doubt that it costs that much to ship an item that weighs not more than 2 lbs. I asked the man what that fee was for and he would not give me an answer. I believe he said "If you want to sit and yell at me like this, I can just hang up the phone. The company puts that price out there, I don't need to tell you why." At this point, I was outraged, this man had absolutely no respect for the customer. He told me that I could take the straightener back to the place of purchase at the Mall of America, but also told me that it wasn't guaranteed that they could exchange it at that location for no fee. I also live 1 1/2 hours from the place of purchase so it would be totally inconvenient for me to drive all the way there just to replace it. He told me "that wasn't his problem" and that was the end of my fuse. I couldn't even take any more so I hung up the phone on him.
Four months later and out a hundred bucks, I feel the need to share my experience with other people. Maybe together we can all help make this right. I would love to hear of any other experiences that other consumers have had with this company.

Iso hair products, mineral makeup, pick a star, butterfly combs, and countless other kiosks are owned by people from isreal. They use these kiosks to attract young women and sometimes men to work. while working for these kiosks they will try to get to know you. then if you meet their criteria then they will try to get you to marry a friend or colleague that is coming from isreal. they will pay between 5,000 to 10,000 dollars, depending how naive you are. they have friends and colleagues coming every year for a couple of months or till they find someone to marry. some of the money generated from these kiosks are supporting the friends and colleagues stay. that is a little insight but what is worse they are selling junk and they know it.
p.s.
Port Aransas Tx., had awesome gift shops at one point but now they are owned by the same people who sell you crappy hair straighteners, mineral makeup,etc... and most of all their lies....
