I received a call from +1 (876) 286-1191 Kingston, Jamaica at 8am, On Monday Morning. The caller introduced himself as James Butterworth from Publishers Clearinghouse. I was informed that I had won 485,000.00 in a Publishers Clearing House Lottery. I was given a claim number and check number confirming my winnings. I was informed that the Prize Patrol was in Atlanta and would be delivering my check today!! I was asked how excited I was about winning this amount of money and I guess my response of that would be great was not exactly what he was looking for. Mr. Butterworth informed me that there was a State Registration Fee required to cash the check and that I needed to go to Walmart to pay the fee and get the Reciept that the prize Patrol would need to release the check to me. I was asked how long it would take me to get to Walmart to pay the 575.00 registration fee. I told Mr. Butterworth that it would take me about an hour. He said he would be staying on the phone with me until the process was complete. I told him that I had to make sure that ai was not being charged for the overseas call and asked him to call me back in 15 minutes. He said he had to stay on the phone with me. I told him that did not make since and hung up. Mr. Butterworth called me right back, assuring me that this was legitimate and that the prize patrol was just miles away waiting to present me with flowers and the check. I told Me. Butterworth that I did not have 575.00. He said he would work with me on that. I told him that I could send the fee when the check cleared. He said I could not cash the check until the fee was paid. I hung up, he called back, I hung up and blocked the number. I see many reports on-line about this type of call, Please don't fall for it!! It's a Scam and you will not be able to get your money back.
