Jared Shafer murdered  my Father.
Jared E Shafer who acted as Clark County's public guardian  had my father killed because our family refused to drop our guardian case against him. 
The background
Our mother passed away in 2008.  Dad had a serious nervous breakdown.  He lived in Las Vegas, Nevada and as a result his children were not allowed to take proper care of him because none of us were residents.  Commissioner Jon W. Norheim and Judge Chuck Hoskin ruled against our guardian request. Judge Hoskin said, "we don't need people who will not live in this state take care of our senior population.   Jared Shafer will tell you what to do and you will jump when he talks. 
In 2010 my sister received the guardian annual accounting report.  It showed Jared Shafer had billed father's trust for $72,500.  In addition AVID Business services of Nevada billed an additional $15,000 simply for sending Shafer's bills to us.  AVID has no license to operate in Nevada or in Clark County. In fact Shafer laughed when I pointed this out to him. 
We decided to challenge the Nevada law regarding out of state guardians.  Our challenge included records of the excessive bills charged against the estate by Jared  Shafer, Patience Bristol, and AVID. 
One afternoon while visiting dad Mr. Shafer and his assistant Patience Bristol entered the room.  They asked me to come outside and talk with them.  I said what do we have to discuss?  Mr. Shafer said come out and you will see.  We went outside.  Patience wanted us to walk away from the building.  I believe the time was 11 Oclock.  After we walked about 150 feet, Shafer made his horrible threat.  He began by saying you know Patience and I are very well connected in this town.  If you continue this court bull crap your father will become a medical experiment. As her guardian I can do anything I want with his body. The law states he belongs to me.  You may not know this, but using seniors to test new medical devices is a common practice in Las Vegas.  Shafer continued I will simply forbid you and your family from visiting your father.  He will be transferred to another facility.  Cuba has a  new heart valve.  Lets see what it does to dad.  My heart began to beat very fast, perspiration flowed out of my body at an incredible rate.  I tried to speak, but the words would not come out.  Patience Bristol said the cat got your Tung?  You can speak well to your stupid lawyer, what is your problem now?  I said weve got laws against this.  Shafer said even the attorney general, Jon Norheim, and Judge Chuck Hoskin  know what is going on and they wont lift a finger.  Then Patience said if you want dad to be our lab rat, go ahead with your court bull.  Shafer remarked, whatever happens to father will be your fault.
Father was quickly moved to an undisclosed location.  The reasons provided to Norheims court stated the move was for his safety.  We couldnt talk to him for 3 weeks.  A few brief conversations followed, but dad appeared to be more confused and he complained of serious chest pains.    
Father who had a normal heart passed away on April 4, 2011.  The autopsy listed his cause of death as being created by a serious heart attack. The crimes against seniors now committed in Nevada is on the level of Hitlers Germany.  People in the 1940s were afraid to discuss the atrocities while they were going on.  This report will hopefully serve as a warning beacon to any senior who wants to move to Nevada.  Until our government decides to deal with this crime, Shafer's death for profit crime spree  will continue.  I hope mothers death will be the beginning of the end for Mr. Shafer and his support group who profit from and enable him to commit  these senior medical death crimes.
