My name is Katie, I just moved to the Sacramento, California area. I used to live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and have been now living in Sacramento for about a month. Since I just moved in the area, I have been looking for jobs, and have been posting my resume on certain sites to maybe get a job offer. I got an email from Michael Mell at JM Firm, and he was not very discriptive of what positions were available so I looked up the company and the first thing that came up on Google was how this company was a scam, so I thought I would share my experience as well. Another thing that I wanted to add is that if this Michael Mell is only located in Wisconsin, why is he trying to reach out to someone that lives in California? I used to live in Wisconsin and I would never go back unless to visit, so I just thought that was a little weird as well.  I responded to the email right away thinking that it was real, but when I did my research I found out this company and this person is a complete scam. I wish I wouldn't of replied to him saying that it was okay if he called me for an interview because I am scared as to what can happen, and I have already been in this type of situation to where I almost worked for a scam company called Vector. Well here is the email that he sent me, but I did not copy and paste what I replied to him:

Hello Katie,

I hope you are doing well! I am emailing you regarding the resume you posted online.  I am currently consulting for a couple small businesses and assisting with several business developments in Tracy, CA. After reviewing your resume, I think you would be a good fit for one of the several positions currently available. The primary position currently available is for a full time Benefits Representative, the average starting wage is around $60,000 a year.  I am in the office Friday and was wondering if I could contact you for a five minute phone interview between 1:00-2:00pm? Or is there a better time to call you at

Also, just so you know, there are no fees for you to use my service, assisting small businesses in finding qualified top-notch employees is included with my consulting fees which are covered by the business. If you find that these positions are not the right fit for you, no worries, I work with a number of other businesses and I may have another client that is hiring in the near future. Are you only looking for work in the 95833 area? Would you consider other areas?
