To whom it may concern,
I had been looking to purchase a box truck for transporting my belongings from storage units to sell, donate and for work. I had seen that Joe Rizza Ford on 159th in Orland Park had some on their lot. The salesman that approached me was Dennis and he talked me into a Black Econoline Superduty 350 Ford van instead, Told me it recently came in and had belonged to a supervisor of a plumbing co. that took great care of their servicing needs at Rizza all the time (so he said and later a female Pat restated) that it was perfectly safe and had been serviced there, which I constantly asked being a female and will also transport children sometimes due to jobs. He kept asking, along with Brian the manager why I needed a vehicle like that. I continuously said so I can transport from storage and sell at markets etc... Dennis reassured me this definitely was perfectly fine and will do the job! Also Dennis was flirting and throwing some personal sexual jokes and comments which I pretended not to hear and ignored changing the subject (Im a Christian and stated that to him earlier) i was offended by the sexual harassment and unproffesionalism. He and Pat the female in service dept also stated that I could talk to the previous owner about the Ford Econoline Superduty 350 van. Which made me feel even more comfortable in trusting them to buy it. I was the last sale of night and was hurried and pushed many papers to sign by Brian Schwartz the manager stating he needed to close and was already late closing up shop. I tried calling a friend to drive the van but he was unavailable. Dennis, salesman, repeatedly said he would drive the van to my home. I said thats ok I'll pick up van tomorrow. I didn't want him knowing where I live, especially when was being explicit in is language. After he constantly said he had no problem doing it, I reluctantly agreed, as i was thinking someone would pick him up to drive him all the way back, Wrong, I had to drive him all the way back 30 miles, wasting my gas, my time, and not to mention I was extremly tired after having my long day. He also gave me his cell number earlier stating that if I had any trouble or needed any information to call.
After 2 days, the van had sat in my driveway where he had parked it. I was about ready to head to the expressway to get to my storage, but as I pulled away from parking spot to hit the main road I noticed thumping and slant. I got out to look and front right passenger tire was flat and off the rim. I went back to my spot and was VERY UPSET! Wasting my hard earned money, time and felt I had been takin advantage of because I am a female! Dennis had only taken me on a test drive in a 35 mi area in residential Orland Park, no highway. I called Rizza and got only runaround and passed around Dept to Dept, getting nowhere. Thankfully, My friend and another guy helped me put the spare on, in which Rizza also gave the wrong jack with vehicle to drop the tire down so we had to use another person's jack from their truck, big inconvenience. As I drove to get the tire fixed the entire van and steering wheel was TOTALLY shaking out of control. It was scaring the heck out of me. it Seemed to occur when I did 45 mph. In which that road I was on is over 55 mph. I went to Costco for 1 new tire and the management at the tire center which I trust, from years of going there, stated that the alignment was way off, all the tires were badly bald and needed to be changed soon before they too go flat. That would be dangerous driving especially being a female and in a big powerful van, let alone anyone. I asked if any of the tires could be used as a spare, they said they wouldn't use any as a spare. They were all in very poor condition. They typed out all notes on a paper for me to show Rizza along with the invoice. Costco had a special sale for tires going on, so I went with cheaper special tires needed and they were put on same day.
I called Rizza-1st spoke to Dennis, but he ignored all my calls and texts. I was then told by receptionist to speak to Brian Schwartz, the manager, well he argued and refused to do anything, but then said he'd call me back to see what he could do after I got irritated. I didnt hear from anyone for many days so I called again and was passed to Gary, another store manager. I wanted some kind of service and satisfaction, not to be ignored, or takin advantage of and not passed around getting nowhere with anyone! I ordered files for complaints from many companies. Last week Rizza had a lot of gaul to send me voicemail thanking me, welcoming me to their family and if I had any service needed to come in. Family? YES I definitely wanted that Service but not be in that family! Horrible customer service. I've made so many calls and have left many messages getting nowhere but runarounds, being passed around to different people, different departments and getting hung up on by Brian more than once. This week I was to go to a family funeral, the van acted up on the expressway, the speed was slowing down and jerking. I prayed to God, to please get me somewhere for help safely. I put my hazzards on and a cop followed me til I pulled into gas station. A gentleman there checked my oil, it wasnt that low but we put 4 quarts in anyway so I could get to funeral. I missed out being with my family before service and missed most of service by getting there late, I was embarrassed and explained to some family, apologizing for my delay. on the way home, The van seemed to be driving ok but the service light still stayed on. The guy at the gas station said some vehicles need to be reset after putting in fluids or service is done.
The day after, I had an appointment to go to and drove the van because the air conditioner worked better than my other car. The van did it again and barely made it to a convenient store. Another kind gentleman seen my hood was up and the car was hot. Antifreeze reservoir was bubbling, boiling over when he opened it slowly, so he waited. When he finally got it cooled and he opened, IT WAS DISGUSTINGLY BROWN SMELLY GUNK! NOT THE NORMAL BRIGHT GLOWING GREEN CHARTREUSE COLOR!! He said definitely not normal, nor was it serviced or flushed before I bought it. And Rizza employees just wanted to hurry and get the van off their lot that night, that's why the salesman kept insisting to drive it to my place when I was insisting to wait until the next day. i feel that RIZZA is a bunch of Scammers, Cons and Liars. Take advantage of innocent women and other unknowing buyers! I called again multiple times and was passed on to Gary a supposed manager again to complain about the issues I was having with van, he passed me to a new guy I never talked to Bruno and Bruno passed me to Brian Schwartz. Brian stated to me Dennis no longer works for them, I said SO! THATS NOT MY PROBLEM. MY PROBLEM IS THE DANGEROUS LEMON VAN YOUR business SOLD ME. He said he knows but he cant do anything for me and he hung up on me after I told him i was sent a Rizza voicemail that welcomed me to their family! And I said YES PLEASE I WANT PROBLEMS FIXED & WOULD NEVER WANT TO BE IN THEIR FAMILY, EVER!
On Friday 7/19 I had an appointment with a car facility my family and I trusted for years to do a diagnostic check and see whats wrong with the van I just bought recently from Joe Rizza Ford Orland Park Illinois on 159th. I just purchased van and things going wrong since day 1. They found a lot besides the dark brown antifreeze gunk and smell, radiator was totally shot, cracked, definitely needed replacing, holes in hoses etc...that soaked the paper filter also. The manager and mechanic said wasnt going to work on because it was too dangerous to drive. They shouldn't have sold it to me especially if it had just arrived on lot. That the engine may also be bad. That it being just bought by Joe Rizza Ford, it should have been taken care of by them, full refund or exchange. That never should of been sold to me in that dangerous, damaged condition especially being a powerful large van (Ford Econoline Supeduty 350) and a female. The manager Greg at car facility was kind enough that he called and took Care of a tow for me and the van. He told me to call Rizza Ford right away that night. So I did when I got home, I talked to the store manager Gary. I told him all that was wrong, what was said to me along with notes from them. Gary told me to call him tomorrow Saturday 7/20/2013 at 10am and he will talk to Brian and get van towed back to them to look at. I called 10:10am and Gary put me on hold bit & then thought oh no this might be another runaround again. Gary finally came back on the phone said they were going to find a tow truck that'll give them discount to tow the van to them and call me back.
At 4pm that manager from trusted car facility on Fri, asked if all was ok with Rizza and are they going to help take care of me and van. I explained I was still waiting for a call back. At 5pm I left 2 messages for Gary, 1 stating it had been 7 hrs later and no one called me yet. EXTREMELY POOR PUBLIC RELATIONS AND SALES PRACTICES!!! Its almost 7:30pm now on and still no word from any of them. Not even owner Joe Rizza, and I left messages for him too, stating it was urgent. Sunday they are closed. Monday now and I had no call in morning. So I called in afternoon. I.asked the receptionist for Gary but said he's off until Tuesday. I explained to her what happened weeks ago when she asked, and that still nothing resolved. She let me leave another message for him and Joe Rizza. I asked if Joe received his other messages from me, she stated yes both of them. I asked if anyone else would snatch them and assumed Joe got them. She said should be Joe. I asked her to please repeat my message and phone number to make sure they were correct. It was! I left another call and message for Joe again today too. I talked to legal professionals and they"re helping since Joe Rizza Ford is ignoring me. They are Sending me papers to fill out and information to send back to them. I've gone through too much pain, suffering, tears, inconvenience, loss of money and jobs because of this and Joe Rizza Ford Orland Park Illinois on 159th St. This should not have come to be such a problematic situation. Please help me resolve.
On July 23 2013 Gary finally had van towed by Vamps from Alsip to their service guy to look at Charles is manager of that department and I met him with Vamps tow company. Charles specifically told me to my face that was the 1st time that van NEVER had history in their Service Dept. and NEVER was it ever serviced there til now! I bought van because i felt assured by Rizza salesman Dennis and Pat that it was only Servised by Rizza from the prev. owner a Supervisor of Plumbing Co. and that Pat knew him well. I was told all lies, conned and pressured into buying that dangerous beast. On July 23 - Aug 6 I had to rent a UHAUL from Sparks to do storage unit business and work since they will have van for who knows how long. On July 27th Receptionist told me she gave my msgs for Joe Rizza to a different Joe. In August Rizza still had van and still I was getting bounced around and promised call backs but only ignored. Sept same thing back and forth, excuses, on vacations, hang ups, will call backs etc... I was told by Gary and Brian that cant get Refund but can get Exchange on another Vehicle. because I told them I was absolutely afraid to step foot that dangerous van that never was checked before put on lot, should have never been sold to anyone until checked out. Mid week of Sept. I finally got a callback from Gary stating van was fixed and ready for pick up. I told again I do not want that dangerous van and frightened to step foot in it. He mentioned some vehicles on lot I might be interested in and he will talk to Brian about and will call me next day. Nope again no call from anyone.
I finally got a hold of Brian by being transferred from different dept. and started to argue and hung up on me when I said I'm afraid to step foot in that van or drive it. I called back and said please don't hang up id like this to get solved and not constantly ignored since I paid good hard earned money on a dangerous van based on only lies to hurry and get off Rizza lot! Brian said he would check and get back to me same day but didnt. I called next day after heard about a Black Jeep they got in also that was only $1,000.00 more than what I paid on van. I went there to see it and Brian said didn't know had it. I asked for the CAR FAX on it and Brian a suppose manager and some other salesman said never seen one before. Brian asked older gentleman Lee to take me for drive. We noticed a backfire under hood when started and tires makin noises. I asked to take to the reputable Business my family and I trust to have checked before exchange. He said would be great idea. Which I had to pay for. Same place Firestone that refused me to drive van when checked it out and they paid for the tow. They found Serpentine belt cracked, tires were bad very low, and someone put a C clamp on battery to hold it down. Went back to Brian and said okay Ill take Jeep for exchange and they can keep the 4 brand new Michelin tires that cost close to $1,000.00. He screamed at me and said no taking the van as trade in instead. I never even received license plates for it. The entire night Brian just argued, threatened me. Gary mentioned a Windstar that was $2,000.00 less than what I paid for van. Plus noticed NONE of the cars seemed to be checked that were taken in as trade in, just hurried and put Rizza lots. Seriously I really just want my money back since I was scammed and conned into buying a dangerous reject that Rizza never even serviced when was traded in. And to just walk away not doing business with them and sending blessings to anyone who has to deal with them especially Women and students.

Let's see...its all because you were female and a Christian, right? One question...if this saleman was treating you with such disrespect in the opening stages of your visit, WHY DID YOU STAY? Sorry, one more...Why did you STAY and reward them with their profit? There's a difference...a big, big difference between discrimination and being a stupid consumer.

Your problem isn't gender

"I had been looking to purchase a box truck for transporting my belongings from storage units to sell, donate and for work... will also transport children"
How many children do you intend to transport in a vehicle that has room for one passenger?
Apparently you found it necessary to remind us several times that you are female so now you can use it as an excuse for your foolish decisions. Maybe the dealer took advantage of you due to your poor auto shopping skills and not because of your gender. Only a totally unaware shopper would have overlooked four bald tires. Only a senseless impulse buyer would purchase a vehicle without first consulting a car facility her family has known and trusted for years. Oh wait, you are female so you have an excuse for that.
You then became interested in a jeep. What about the items you need to transport? Is that another frail female decision?
Your problem isn't gender but you are a few shades beyond blonde.
