Apparently, we're not the only ones in this boat. My father-in-law saw this infomercial and thought it would be a great way to supplement his fixed income. My wife and I thought we would help him with this new "job" and after three skeptical weeks, we found out this was a scam.
I won't bore you yet again with what seems to be John Beck's Amazing Bull. My f-i-l was taken for $8000, which isn't as bad as some others I've read about here. The $8000 was paid using two different credit cards, that maxed both out.
I have contacted one of the card companies already and will be in touch with the other as soon as they open in the morning, to have them reverse the charge.
I am concerned that if the credit card company does a charge back, John Beck will then sick his collection agency on me.
We would be interested in a class-action lawsuit if one were in place. But my concern right now is just to recoup my f-i-l's money. Any advice on how to get it done is greatly appreciated.

The Fraudulent Law Offices Of Barnum & Bailey
AUTHOR: Reid - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, November 14, 2005
Hey there Rick,
I hope that this rebuttal finds you in good spirits and health.
RICK: Thanks to some good advice and a lot of persistance, we got back all of my f-i-l's money from John "The Scumbag" Beck. It was a pain in the a$$, but it worked. Thanks to all who encouraged me and helped me find a way to get it done.
REID: John Beck will later attempt to send this now non-existent debt to a fraudulent collections agency of his choice. EPN & the "Law Offices Of Bennett & Deloney" are fraudulent businesses, but you can expect to receive a letter from them in the near future.
LETTER RECEIVED FROM THE FRAUDULENT LAW OFFICES OF BENNETT & DELONEY:
September 1, 2005
Dear __________
This firm has been retained by E Partner Net, who is attempting to collect the past due balance on this account owed to John Becks Amazing Profits. They would like to resolve this matter as quickly and efficiently as possible. They have therefore granted us permission to settle this issue for $5503.01.
Please call (888) 571-1190 to discuss this offer or other possible alternatives in greater detail, or to talk about any questions or concerns you might have.
This firm is considered a debt collector and this communication from the firm is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose. Unless you dispute the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, within thirty days after receipt of this notice, the firm will assume the debt to be valid. If you notify the firm in writing within the thirty-day period that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, the firm will seek to obtain verification of the debt or a copy of a judgement will be mailed to you by the firm if a judgement exists. Upon your written request within the same thirty-day period the firm will provide you with a name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor.
Our offer to settle this matter promptly does not alter the time periods set forth in the previous paragraph for you to request verification that this is your debt, or the identity of the original creditor.
The law does not require us to wait until the end of the thirty-day period before suing you to collect the debt. If, however, you request proof of the debt or the name and address of the original creditor within the thirty-day period that begins with your receipt of this letter, the law requires us to suspend our efforts (through litigation or otherwise) to collect the debt until we mail the requested information to you.
Sincerely
Bennett & Deloney, P.C.
Bennett & Deloney is a fraudulent collection agency. These f^cker$ of their own mamas PURCHASE non-existent debts from scam businesses like incest John Beck's and attempt to collect on them by mailing out bogus letters.
Bennett & Deloney were involved in an unlawful "bounced check" scam awhile ago and although they have PAID back their many victims have not really rectified the situation completely.
DO NOT send this fraudulent collection agency any money, or agree in any way, shape, or form to pay them any money. Instead, hand write these bozos a simple letter.
REID'S SAMPLE LETTER:
Date
I am disputing this debt.
Send me verification of this debt. Also send me the name and address of the original creditor.
Sign here
NOTICE: DO NOT write any more than this. Keep your letter short and to the point, as any more information would be uneccessary and just a waste of time.
This fraudulent collection agency still hasn't responded to my dispute letter and it has been well over a month and a half since I sent it.
These pr!cks should obtain verification of the debt before sending out collection notices. Ooooops, my bad, wouldn't be a scam then now would it?
Until next time, take care Rick cause I care, Aloha from Hawaii and God Bless.

John Beck Is A Result Of Incest
AUTHOR: Reid - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, November 08, 2005
Hey there Rick,
I hope that this rebuttal finds you in good spirits and heatlh.
RICK: My father-in-law received $2000 in charge backs from one credit card company and we are still working on the other. Reid, your advice was very helpful, and Joann's letter was a good template to work from. Thanks to everyone, but we are still looking for the other $6000 that John "The Scumbag" Beck owes my f-i-l.
REID: I'm glad that you were able to get back $2,000.00 and I'm extremely confident that you will recover the other $6,000.00 as well.
John Beck is a con and it's NOT just a matter of opinion. So much so, that even John T. Reed found it neccessary to "reluctantly" change his somewhat positive review of his buddy incest Beck to a "I do NOT recommend."
It's a known fact that 97% of all "wealth building" programs are scams. There is absolutely no such thing as legitimate "wealth building" programs being sold to total strangers for less than the "earning potential" claimed possible.
The only "success stories" that are created as a result of these fraudulent "wealth building" programs are the trailor trash mutha f^cker$ selling them.
When things sound too good too be true they ALWAYS are.
Until next time, take care Rick cause I care, Aloha from Hawaii and God Bless.

TOM: Thank you reid:
suntanning in hawaii? cant folks do it for free?
you are so lucky to live there. i live in ohio. weather sucks here.
REID: I'm currently in the process of starting a part-time mobile spray on tanning business. Much safer than laying out in the hot summer sun.
TOM: as for john beck. how come he cant just tell us how to make 10k per month? why does he have to 'charge' for this? what the hell is wrong with this clown????????
REID: You are absolutely right Tom. What's wrong with the fraudulent John Beck Mentoring Institute collecting someones "available credit" contingent upon he or she turning a profit as promised?
If John Beck's program was so great, what the hell are they doing sharing their "wealth building" secrets to total strangers for less than the $10,000.00-$15,000.00 a month they claim possible?
Why has this fraudulent company turned down numerous public challenges, which would immediately yield them a profit of $97,000.00?
What about John Beck's many FULL OF $H!T "success stories?" Why haven't any of these inbreeds accepted my challenges, which would immediately yield them a profit of $97,000.00?
According to John Beck's fraudulent infomercial and incest boy Mike Evans himself, my challenges are far withing the realm of possibility and should be considered "easy as pie" considering the abundance of such properties.
TOM: like u said reid. we can be shown how to make 10k per month. we can all do it if we apply ourselves.
REID: This is correct. Unfortuanately, "wealth building" secrets are not for sale.
TOM: so why does this a*****e beck need to make his 10k per month by conning us into believing he will show us how to make 10 k per month?
REID: Scam no doubt. Think about how much money a legitimate business would be throwing away by mentoring total strangers to make more money than the profits it earns from the programs themselves.
Now when evaluating so called "moneymaking" programs I need only ask one question and that is, "what's in it for your company?" Why is your company so interested in "mentoring" total strangers to wealth for a loss?
$10,000.00-$15,000.00 a month for $6,400.00? Sounds good in theory. Too bad these Real Estate programs are bogus. John Beck's especially.
TOM: i wish i could meet this guy and choke all his stolen money out of him. we as consumers have been getting screwed by the rich since time began ..... this clown makes it worse and takes what little we have left? on CREDIT no less? money we HAVENT EVEN EARNED YET?
REID: No point in going to jail for something that can easily be resolved on the Internet and in the public eye. Believe me though, I would love to smash this crooked attorney's face.

Out here in Hawaii, the Real Estate market is kicking, but so is the competition for mortgages and refinancing. Hopefully, I can someday establish a marketing campaign half the size of yours for my part-time tanning business.

Dear fellahs:
hope this finds you in good health and good spirits.
i see you are still hammering away at the imbred john beck there reid. lol. that guy should pay you $10k per month just to get off his case.
as for me - i can tell you all how to make 10k per month for free. do what i did.
i left collections and now am a state licenced mortgage broker. I made 10k in my first month . no bs. i got 15k set up for august and counting.
its a joke. u send out 3000 mailers to homeowners in offical looking envelopes so they thinks its financial mail. they open it up to see the flyer. most people wipe their a*s with it.
but out of 3000 flyers i get about 7 calls from people wanting to refi. out of those one or 2 actually do refi. i make about 2k off each deal .
i send out flyers once a week. the cost is about 400 bucks in material and postage. It really works!!!
so there. no fees or 'mentoring' . if i can do it so can you!!!
set up an account with the post office. u can get a great rate on bulk mail. 16 cents locally.
get a flyer advertising refi helocs consolidate debt etc.
send em out. wait. get calls. qualify them. sell them. get their docs. take em to closing
thats it.
cheers

Hi all
This is not for sure John but I thought it was reported on a radio station one day that Capitol one was facing their own misleading leagal issues. This was a few months back. If I remember correctly the Minnesota Attorney General's Office had filed a suite against them in regard of their deceptive practice.
Just food for thought. Even though a case would be based on its own merits. You would need to check for facts on this if it has any interests to you.
Yes it can be an under statement to how fraustrating this experiance can be and this may be what a class action suit should be about for the mental suffering and BS this fraud has caused. This is likely a common point for all.
We will all be wishing Joann the best in her endever; in her quest for justice.

Hey there John,
I hope that this rebuttal finds you in good spirits and health.
You are absolutely right about credit card companies being co-conspirators in the vast majority of fraudulent businesses that have merchant accounts, regardless of the many excuses they may have for doing so.
Yes, I am aware that consumers have a certain level of responsibility for making sound purchase decisions, however, it is totally irresponsible for credit card companies to continue authorizing charges, in which they already know are fraudulent, especially when they want so much for consumers to believe they are concerned about their cardholders security and protection.
This total irresponsibility on the part of credit card companies is no different than private citizens taking the money of others and deliberately subjecting it to scams.
The greatest thing about credit card companies insisting on remaining stupid however, is that the money in which they deliberately subject to scam businesses are theirs. LOL!
Until next time, take care John cause I care, Aloha from Hawaii and God Bless.

I am happy that you have gotten your money back--as for me, this has not been so easy. I have disputed these charges many weeks ago and the c.c.company (Capital One) notified Mentoring of America of this dispute with a 45 day time limit to respond. They, of course ignored it. One would think that I would have been reimbursed at that point but this wasn't done. I have recieved 4 different requests asking for the same info from the credit card dispute dept. with the same 7 questions (date of transaction, name of company you are disputing, nature of dispute, what you expected to receive vs. what was received, your attempts at resolving this problem with company in dispute, their refund policy, dates of contact to this company, etc.) I have called this dispute dept. many times and they have a secret dept. who handles the disputes and this dept. doesn't take phone calls--so there is no way to find out what I have sent that isn't sufficient to back up my dispute. I have faxed them many pages of documentation including examples from this site of other victims similar disputes against this company to back up my dispute. I have verified that they have recieved all this info. and have been given the royal run-around. Today, I called and laid it on the line--no more form letters!! This c.c.company has received many thousands of $$'s of business from me for travel that I have to do for my job. They have recently increased my credit limit due to my good credit history and have sent me many different great loan offers stating that I am a "valued customer" and am eligible for their great "loan rates" I told them that if I am such a valued customer, why is this dispute not resolved yet?? I told them that their stonewalling tactics are as maddening as the Beck scam and if this isn't resolved within the next 30 days, I would be seeking legal action against them too as co-conspirators to this scam. To say I am angry and frustrated over this is an understatement!! I informed the c.c.company that I will not use their card for business any more until this is resolved and this will cost their business, in the future, much more than the 12.5 g's that they have not reimbursed me. Even though they have promised to expedite my request----let's just say I'll believe it when I see it!! If you and your lawyer want to pursue this---PLEASE COUNT ME IN!!!!---I will not rest until these con-artists are brought into court, tarred and feathered (too bad these tactics are no longer used!!) Seriously though, you have my wholehearted support and I hope that you can get these scumbags. Your lawyer's letter is very impressive and I will be eagerly waiting to see how this plays out. If your lawyer needs any other examples from other victims--HERE I AM!! I will be more than happy to offer him my horror story as additional backup against these parasites!! Best of luck to you, Reid and all my other friends and victims on this site!!

The John Beck Mentoring Institute Is A Criminal Entity.

Hey there Everyone,
I hope that this rebuttal finds you in good spirits and health.
I am totally surprised that no criminal investigation has yet taken place regarding the fraudulent John Beck Mentoring Institute.
If someone from the fraudulent John Beck Mentoring Institute does not serve jail time for this ridiculous scam, others contemplating a similar scam might take that risk, if the worst that could happen is a courtroom appearance.
The John Beck Mentoring Institute is totally fraudulent, no if ands or buts about it, and not just a matter of my opinion. Lying with the intent to steal. "That's fraud."
Joann- Take this scam company for all it's worth. Ask your attorney about seeking restitution from the fraudulent John Beck Mentoring Institute.
Take your settlement and buy yourself a beautiful home somewhere and a nice Porsche compliments of John Beck and his team of crooks. You truly deserve it.
Also, start inquiring about judgement recovery, in the event John Beck and his team of inbreeds start hiding money offshore, etc, etc.
Until next time, take care Everyone cause I care, Aloha from Hawaii and God Bless.

File your complaint
AUTHOR: Al - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, July 29, 2005
Rick sorry to see their still being preditors.
Even though your disputing with the card companies. File your complaint with the various other agencies listed in previous reports.
AS FTC, Federal Trade Commision, UT Consumer Protection Division and others listed.
JB's group may just decide to send you a refund agreement as Joann received. They may still go back on their agreement even if signed. There ar some variation to there methods. They don't want the credit card companies to do a charge back or it cost them money besides returning the funds and damages their future opprotunity to use the card company.
The card companies are still in it for the money also.
JB's group may offer an offer an agreement to proceed with your services. Tell you they will provide you with a better mentor ect ect BS BS.
Document every thing you do and they do. Write them and tell them any thing they say or wtite will be used as eveidences. Certify all writings with return. Record all conversations.
May sure the understand that you have canceled your agreement with them due to their fraudgulent indution into their BS Program.
The FIRST THING is to gather up information that you intend to summitt to your card companies in favor of your dispute. The card company will send you what ever JB's group sends to the cc, creidt card, to back their validity.
At that time the cc will allow you a certain time period to back up your complaint and reasoning for a charge back.
The cc will provide a responce as to their decision. They may or may not do a charge back imediatley. Do not be supprised if the cc doesn't do a charge back at first.
Keep gathering more information to send them if need in the event they don't do a charge back at first. Continue to send the cc info about every month if needed.
Do not let JB's group's BS tell you they won the dispute with a cc and give up. Continue to dispute it with the cc if needed. It may or may not take some time depending on the cc.
Wish you and yours the best.

Mentoring of America, LLC
406 West 5050 North
Provo UT 84604
Re: JoAnn and Roderic County v. Mentoring of America LLC
Dear Mentoring of America:
This office represents Joann and Roderic XXXXXXXXX concerning their September, 2004 purchase of the Amazing Profits Real Estate Program. Your company is currently trying to collect $7246.31 from the Countys by making debt collection calls (through your related entity EPN) and by threatening to report this amount on the Countys' credit reports. As explained below, the Countys do not owe any amount, and you are not entitled to make any credit reporting as to them.
I have reviewed the history of this transaction, and find your company's conduct to be shockingly fraudulent. The following is a non-exhaustive list of the fraud:
The CD's and books from the Amazing Profits program were useless. The manuals were incomplete, the vast majority of the websites referenced were dead links, and the CD's were merely infomercials.
Mentoring of America promised the Countys that (1) they could not fail because they would be your next infomercial success story, (2) that if they invested 5-10 hours per week they would make their money back in 60-90 days, and (3) that they would make hundreds of thousands of dollars in the foreclosure market. These were false representations designed to induce the Countys to buy more useless products.
Mentoring of America solicited the Countys to use other people's money for a new real estate program by allowing Mentoring of America to charge their credit card $13,960.00. Your company told the Countys that this amount included (1) lifetime tax preparation or advice, anytime of day or night; (2) free creation of an LLC in Nevada with someone there to answer the phones anytime; and (3) a free trip to Las Vegas to see a John Beck seminar, with travel expenses paid. All of these statements were false. Mentoring of America later tried to charge the Countys additional money for every one of the above items.
Mentoring of America quoted a price to my clients of $13,960 and charged that amount on their credit card. Not coincidentally, this was the County's current credit limit at that time. I understand from my investigation that your company has been defrauding many other consumers by charging them depending on their credit limits.
My clients requested a refund, and Mentoring of America ignored their calls and letters. However, once my clients did a chargeback on their credit card, your company sent my clients email confirmation that the entire $13,960 would be refunded. Kindell Graham of your company told the Countys not to worry, that this was a total refund and that they would not be the subject of any debt collection efforts. These representations were also apparently false. As soon as it had promised a refund, in writing, your company refused return of the books and CD's, and assigned the account to your sister company debt collection agency EPN. Ms. Graham started avoiding the Countys' calls, and once when she answered one of those calls, falsely told the Countys that she would fix the mistake. She did not.
EPN is now trying to collect $7246.31 from the Countys, allegedly for the materials they tried to return and four mentoring calls. EPN now maintains that Mentoring of America didn't actually intend to refund anything, and always intended to collect the money from the Countys later. This is outrageous -- Mentoring of America's own email states otherwise. I am also shocked that your company would try to collect the unconscionable amount of $7246.31 for a total of four phone calls lasting 20 minutes each, which constituted little more than walking my clients through a website and having them write down their goals. EPN has also informed my clients that their credit reports are about to be damaged, and that Mentoring of America has instructed it to collect the debt.
In addition to the obvious fraud chronicled above, your company violated California's Home Solicitation Sales Act in wholesale fashion. The Legislature passed the Home Solicitation Sales Act in 1971 in order to protect consumers from the unfair pressures of sales which are consummated in the home. See Civil Code 1689.5 et. seq.; Weatherall Aluminum Products, Co. v. Scott, 71 Cal.App.3d 245, 249 (1977). The Act grants consumers a 3-day right to cancel such transactions. Civil Code 1689.6. The seller must disclose the 3-day right to cancel in writing, directly above the space for the consumer's signature on the contract (Civil Code 1689.7(a)(1)), and must orally disclose the 3-day right to cancel as well. Civil Code 1689.7(f). The seller must also provide a special tear-off cancellation form in duplicate that the buyer may then use to cancel the transaction. Civil Code 1689.7(b).
Your company did none of these things. Therefore, my clients have the right to cancel the transaction at any time. Civil Code 1689.7(g). Upon cancellation, your company had 10 days to refund all payments made under the contract, and had 20 days to pick up its goods. Your company did not refund all the payments, and it failed to accept the returned goods. Accordingly, my clients may keep the goods without any obligation to pay. Civil Code 1689.7(c) and 1689.11.
It makes no difference that your sales force used the telephone to induce the Countys to enter into the agreements, and never came to their home. The Act applies to telephonic transactions where the offer is accepted at home, regardless of who initiates the telephone call. People v. Toomey, (1985) 157 Cal.App.3d 1; Weatherall Aluminum Products v. Scott, (1977) 71 Cal. App.3d 245; Janzen v. Workers' Comp. Appeals Bd, (1997) 68 Cal.Rptr.2d 260, 263; Luskin & Sons, Inc. v. Samovitz, (1985)166 Cal.App.3d 533, 536 (Although the home solicitation statute is commonly thought of as protecting consumers from the high pressures sales tactics of door-to-door solicitors, the clear, unambiguous language of the statute gives it a much broader application).
Pursuant to the Home Soliciation Sales Act, and because of the underlying fraud described above, any transactions between your company and the Countys are entirely void and unenforceable. You are also hereby put on notice that your company violated many provisions of the Consumers Legal Remedies Act at Civil Code 1770(a). The CLRA provides the prevailing consumer with injunctive relief, and attorneys fees. Moreover, you are hereby advised that if you fail to cure your violations of the CLRA within 30 days, the Countys will also be entitled to damages and punitive damages against you.
You have the opportunity to cure your violations by doing the following within 30 days:
1. Agreeing in writing to waive any alleged debt you contend the Countys owe, and recalling your debt collection agency EPN.
2. Agreeing in writing on behalf of Mentoring of America and EPN not to report any tradeline on the Countys credit reports at any time.
3. Ceasing all contact with the Countys, including by EPN.
4. Returning the Countys' payment of $39.95 for the Amazing Profits materials.
If you do not comply with this demand, the Countys will file a lawsuit against your company and EPN for fraud, violations of the Home Solicitation Sales Act, violations of the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and for damages and punitive damages under the Consumers Legal Remedies Act. The Countys will also consider bringing a class action to set aside all of your transactions in California during the last four years as voidable home solicitation sales, and to force you to return all monies you have obtained in those transactions.
Thank you for your consideration of the above. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Alexander ((REDACTED))

In my case it was a letter written by an S. Lyons, pleading with my credit card company to have the charge reversed in their favor, while having provided absolutely nothing to substantiate the request.
LETTER STATES: Please issue a credit back to our account for $6,400.00. Cardholder has purchased our Real Estate Mentoring Program. Please see attached "SIGNED" Enrollment Agreement/Contract.
Thank you.

Hey Reid
Thanks for your help. Both credit card companies seem willing to try to reverse the charges, but both seemed to think we will be unsuccessful. One has asked for as much documentation that we can provide (in writing) to show that this is fraud. We have decided to send this to both figuring that if we need to do it, both may as well benefit from all of our work.
You mentioned that Beck might beg the card companies to reverse the charges in their favor and use information not applicable to this case in their favor. How will we know this to defend our case?
Thanks again for taking on this crusade,
