This dealer took me for a ride when I purchased a 1999 Ford windstar LX.I brought car with a $500 warranty on October 4,2008 and 20 minute from leaving the dealer engine light came on. After calling dealer when I reached home he told me to bring back. Being i still owed a balance on car i know he would fix it so i thought. I drove car for the month of october and it sat for month of november because plates were expired and I didnt have full balance to pay off vehicle which i explained to him. The full amount was paid like i agreed on December 5,2008 with a $25 late charge.
Once he recieved balance of his money he felt that he was not responsible for repairs. So I let him talk me into repairing it myself because he said it was just sensors and warranty would not cover it. Also on warranty(Eagle Warranty Corp 940 Scanton-Carbondale Hwy Eynon,Pa 18403 1-800-735-2529 Fax 570-230-0201) it clearly showed sensors to be covered but company refused to pay. When i found how expensive it was i became very upset. It cost me $300 to install (4) sensors that dealer told me i needed after he put that handheld scanner on car to read codes.
Soon after i had the sensors installed about 20 minutes the light came back on. I became fed up after speaking with Kar connection about wrong suggestion of what was wrong with car and he did not want to help fix it. Then i tolk it to Quality Auto a reinspection center and they told me there were a bigger problem and the inspection cost me $84.94.They told me i needed Manifold gaskets because this car was known for having this problem and ford had no recalls on it.
Once again i called dealer and we had a 30 minute conversation where he told me Quality Auto were ripping me off for the $700 worth of repairs. But when i asked him why are you concerned when your not fixing my car. He said he sold car as is and he is not responsible for repairs. After feeling like i had been taken for a ride i went out to dealer to express my concerns. As i spoke to second owner (Pete) about my concerns they called police officiers to site. Pete said he would try to help me out and to call him the next day.He also reset engine light for third time.He explained he needed code for mechanic. And once again the light came on in about 20 minutes from leaving dealer.
On monday i called Pete and he explained that i would have to pay at least $250 and he would pay balance of bill to repair car at his mechanic. They had my car from friday January 9,2009 to january 12,2009 leaving me without a car once again. This fee i were forced to pay because i wasn't given an option. My inspection was no good and these people were sticking there unwanted hands in my pockets again....
The fact of the matter is if i purchased a car from you and i left your lot and the engine light came on 20 minites later. How are you not responsible for repairs when i still had a balance owed to you. I could have asked for a refund but you lead me on like you were going to fix it and that was a very deceptive thing you did.My honest opinion is that you guys reset that engine light before i purchased car and had hoped that i as the consumer would foot the bill.So sorry that i had to disappoint you guys maybe next time.....Not!!!.
Just so you know i will pursue this to recover some of the money i were scammed out of...about $1000 bucks. You are resetting engine lights with that portable scanner knowing consumers will not be able to pass inspection. You never told me i had to waste time and money before finding out...That scanner should be illegal for dealer to have if they do not have a show on there property and you don't ......you have a detail shop so you could only be scamming people by having that device.......Shame On You.... If i don't recover funds that's find too...because you will think twice about scamming someone else.....Now the word is out on several website.......Have A Nice Day.............Signed Unsatisfied Scammed Customer......

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
there are two sides to every story
AUTHOR: Kar Connection - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, December 21, 2010
We, Kar Connection, were just made aware of this complaint by a satisfied customer of ours and that is why no rebuttal was every made prior to today. Kar Connection has been in business for over 15 years and has never been reported by anyone on any site.So when we were informed about this we were very upset, to say the least. As owners, we felt as though we had taken care of the problem the customer was complaining about. We didnot use the scanner to try to get rid of the problem. We used it so we can try to find out what and if any thing was wrong with the car. We did replace the old sensor with a new one. Unfortunately, it took 2 attempts to correctly diagnose the problem. And I truly believe that the customer was upset becuase the customer had to return to our mechanic 2 times in order to fix the problem. We did finally fix the problem and the car didpass inspection. Please note we donot guarantee inspection on any vehicle that has over 130,000 miles! This issue never went to court. Kar Connection feels as though this post has falsely accused them of a scam! We did the right thing in fixing this problem. The customer paid nothing out of his pocket for any of the repairs! Kar Connection took careof the problem!
