Kay Bridal Defrauding Customers and Vendors Ripoff Maple Shade New Jersey

Before looking for a wedding gown I read a lot about designers and dress quality. I felt a little knowledable about dresses and Kay Bridal was one of the first stops I visited. The woman were friendly and helped me to try on a few dresses. The problems came when I asked who designed some of the dresses. Suddenly half the staff didn't even speak English and the half that did was just support staff and did not have access to that information. I decided to look in some of the dresses myself and all I found were wholes were the name brands should be. The shop proudly displays designer logos in the front windows and they are listed on many designers websites as an authorized dealer but when you go in you don't know what you are getting.

I went through tons of websites trying to find who designed my dress and I found it on my own through memory (you are also not allowed to take pictures of the dresses or of yourself in it). I called the shop and asked if they have the Maggie Sottero "Michelle" gown. I was told they have a dress like it but they aren't sure if they have that dress. Of course they had it and it was the one I had originally tried on but they still would not tell me if that was the dress. I went back again because I was having trouble locating another dealer that had the dress in stock. While I tried on the dress again a bridesmaid begun looking at bridesmaid dresses and it was the same thing, no tags or labels and they couldn't tell you who made the dresses. It was amazing how quickly the owners went from speaking perfect English not being able to speak a word.

I contacted the BBB who told me this is out of their area and I need to contact Consumer Affairs which is what I am working on now. Unfortunately many of the designers do not allow you to contact them directly or I would love to tell them what is happening in their "Authorized Shops"
