Wizard 101 advertises itself as a "free" games for kids and adults, but once it has your credit card, it doesn't let go. When I saw I had nearly $150.00 in unauthorized charges on my credit card, I called the number that appeared next to Kingsisle Entertainment on my Mastercard bill. The number is bogus - it just directs you to a website, where "customer service" refused my request for a contact number ("we don't offer telephone help" only online).
I explained that I had deleted my credit card information from the site after a purchase, yet somehow the credit card numbers repopulated and additonal unauthorized purchases were made. I kept getting anonymous replies that such a thing was impossible, and that all of these steps had to be taken in order to make a purchase. This is untrue. My kids never took any of the steps they said you have to take, yet purchase after purchase appeared on my credit card.
When I complained further, I got an anonymous reply that said there are no refunds and that I should put parental controls in place. I replied they were in place, which is why I was surprised by the unauthorized charges. I went into the site and deleted my credit card information AGAIN, and then I got another email from "customer service" that said don't worry, they deleted the credit card informaton. That was AFTER I had deleted it from the site hours earlier, so once again, somehow, the site retains the credit card information after customer deletion. So you get charges on a card that you thought was out of the system.
I have disputed the charges with Mastercard, and I am filing a complaint with various government agencies. If anyone else has had problems with Kingsisle, please let me know.

Unauthorized Charges - Wizards 101

My credit card company contacted me Friday night to advise of a "fraud alert" on my Visa card. Several charges were appearing on my card from KingsIsle - Wizards 101. I contacted KingsIsle via email, and was told that my daughter made the purcashes, and that there are "no refunds"... but that my credit card information has been deleted from their records. My daughter is 14 and IS NOT an authorized user on my credit card account. Furthermore, my credit card is missing. Iam filing a fraud report with Capital One and am refusing to pay these charges. I am still seeking a phone number to contact KingsIsle as the phone numbers that I have located are just recordings, and the only way to contact them appears to be via email.
Is there anyone else that has faced the same issue with this company? I am going to forward this site name to my credit card company for follow-up and also contact the Attorney General's office. I am not sure if the Better Business Bureau would do anything, as this company is not registered with the BBB.

This is an update to a report that I filed earlier this week. Kingsisle has agreed to reimburse my credit card for most of the unauthorized charges. I am satisfied with the response. I have closed the game accounts and expect no further issues to arise.
