on dec. 10th, 2011 we went to the store spent over $300 worth of groceries. we were then stopped outside of store by loss provention but they didnt identify themselves until later, because we forgot to pay for some grapes my daughter, whose five was eating around the store, and me being 6 months pregnant i was eating too. they wouldnt let me just pay for the grapes, which i would have, they had to take me to the office and ban me from krogers for a year over half a bag of grapes. i think, it was wrong of them to ban me for that when i could have just paid for them.

you were caught stealing and try to minimize it by saying you offered to pay. Consider yourself lucky they didn't have you arrested.
What an example you are to your children.

You got lucky

- That is just it. You COULD have paid for them BEFORE you left the store but you didn't. That "well how about I just pay for them" is actually what most shoplifters say when they are CAUGHT. If that actually worked and they only got "caught" 1 out of every 2 times just imagine how much free stuff they can get. This is exactly why stores take EVERY situation like this very seriously.
You are extremely lucky that you are 6 months pregnant and had your daughter with you because if you didn't you would have probably been arrested for shoplifting.

Eat before you go grocery shopping.
If you were honest you would have told the cashier that you ate the other half of the bag of grapes.

Yes, you could have paid for them but instead you chose to steal. You are lucky they only banished you from the store.

You think Kroger is a ripoff?

You got caught taking things that you didn't pay for. If they hadn't stopped you outside the store, you would have left without paying. I think the message that Kroger is trying to send is that they don't need customers like you.
" i think, it was wrong of them to ban me for that when i could have just paid for them. "
You're lucky that they just banned you from the store. They could have called the cops and had you arrested for shoplifting. Every shoplifter is always willing to pay for the item AFTER they get caught. It doesn't work that way.
