LA Cars Repo Inc Con artist who prey on people with low income. They talk fast and try to take your cash Van Nuys, California

Anyway I searched online for a car after being turned down by regular dealerships.
LA Cars Repo Inc. appeared on allot of the searches I did for specific cars in my price range. They advertise as being a dealership that had in-house financing for all credit types. The advertisement on craigslist leads u to believe they will help you as long as u have a down payment and a paycheck. I called them up talked to a guy named Chris he gave me the phone number of the finance manager Big Mike who I explained my situation to. I  got pre approved online and then received a call from them 2 days later telling me I was approved for a vehicle under 5k.This time I spoke with Sal.(Sal the pal) All i needed was a down payment 7 references a bill in my name with my address of residence bank info pay info and the car I was interested in. I listed 4 cars i liked they told me one of them was sold and the rest were there come on in. I wrote a list of cars including description price and VIN number. The cars were all ones they said they would finance for me. So once I got to the dealership they wanted to make copies of my paperwork and told me they needed to pre approve me. I said you told me I was already approved? Sal said yes you are approved we just need your application and your going home in a car today. I wanted to inspect the cars first and know what the payments would be. 

I took out the list of cars i liked and the prices with VIN numbers. Sal took it from me and put it in his pocket. He told me there were only 5 cars he could finance for me? None of them were the cars I liked or saw online that were under 5k. He presented a Chrysler concord, which i said no to immediately, a 96 Nissan maxima with cigarette burn holes and smoke ash and stains, a old dented kia rio  a ford focus and a Saturn ION with so much cigarette ash on the dash and seats and a horrible stench. I looked at all of my choices and inquired about other cars on the lot that I saw online priced at 2-5k. He kept insisting I couldn't get financed for those cars. He kept saying drive it for 6 months if u pay on time you can come back and trade it for a better car. So being that my credit was not good I decided to choose one of the cars I chose a blue stick shift 2001 ford focus. It had 138k miles. he then pointed out another ford focus that was the same year but red with 136k miles it was the ZTS model with leather seats and wood grain a nicer model but it had dents and dings all over.  I decided on the blue one it wasn't perfect but it was the best of the bunch and didn't reek of cigarettes. I had the paper with the Vin of this car and the price from the advertisement and the website. It was $3,988.

We test drove it. I asked him about a warranty he said it was only for 30 days. If we wanted more we had to pay 800 bucks for 1 yr. That seemed ok. My friend decided he would inspect the car and test drive it for me since I had the baby with me. He came back and said it was legit and lets get started on the paperwork. I started to ask questions about the price of the car and he said it was $5,550? I said the ad and website said $3,988 ? Sal claimed since I wasn't going to pay cash the price jumps up to $5,500. I wasn't happy about this but I said it would all depend on the payments for the next 12 months. He assured me the payments would be affordable. So we wnt inside to write up the paperwork. After being there over and hour and still not finding out the payment Sal kept pressuring me for more money down even though we discussed 1000 down over the phone and in person when i got there. I told him I was only paid once a month but he kept saying he needed 500 more dollars in 3 weeks from me in order for me to take the car. i told him I simply had only 1000 so if he couldn't do this car then suggest another one that cost less. I got the list of cars out again and he suggested I take the red focus it was the same yr same amount of miles.

I asked him why the red one and not the blue one there practically the same the blue was stick and had cloth seats the red was automatic and had leather like seats. I asked him how much the red one cost and he said $5,550? I said so u mean to tell me there the same price? I looked at my list and the red one was priced at $2,988. So if the blue one was $3,988 why would I pay $5,550 for both and why could they finance one and not the other without additional down payment?>

Sal said it was due to the blue focus having rims and it was in better condition physically. I told him the rims aren't even nice but if u want take them off the car I don't want them. So since the red focus was dented on the driver side fender and the back wheel well and back bumper they could sell it to me at the same price as the "nicer" focus without more money down. This made no sense to me, there were numerous cars on the lot in the same price range or lower but they insisted on selling me something i did not want. Needless to say my friend got pissed off told me to grab all my paperwork and leave. The whole time I was there they never told me the monthly payment. I wanted to get a car but the cars on the lot had issues to begin with that I overlooked because I needed a vehicle. For example the blue focus had no radio face on the car stereo. I asked Sal about it and he said they had it inside the office. However when my friend test drove it he told him it didn't have one. The trunk on that car would not open and was stuck. It took a while to open and then didn't shut properly. The inside panel was missing on all 4 doors on the red focus.

It just seems to me that they lie and practice shady dealings over at LA Cars Repo Inc. The main thing that should have indicated he was a bad salesman was he never took off his dark sunglasses the entire time we were there. He was on his cell phone talking to a friend while i was at the table trying to find out the payments. We told him we wanted to get a car and if he wanted the deal to work we wanted to get the blue car with $1000 down or no deal. Sal didn't even try to fight for our business he just kept pushing the crappiest car. I didn't feel it was safe or reliable for me and my baby. If they pull this kind of crap at this dealership imagine what the payments would have been. Whatever u do no matter how desperately u need a car stay away from LA Cars Repo Inc they are the worst and there cars are crap there dented reek of horrible stench have extreme miles on all of them, are missing parts and pieces and have been smoked in continuously. You will talk to several people over the phone that tell u that you are approved then when u get there you are approved but just not for the car you want. These are all lemons in my opinion. Stay AWAY...
