La Quinta Inn & Suites Not only a dirty place, but uncaring staff also. Deerfield Beach, Florida

   We were advised not to stay at either of the two La Quinta locations in Coral Springs, Florida, but considering the cost, we decided to give the Deerfield Beach location a try. Big mistake.

   The bags of garbage that were sitting by the elevator when we checked in, were still there when we checked out 4 days later, and we walked by them every day in between.

   The room was filthy and the large roach I chased was too fast to catch before it went into the bathroom lighting fixture. The shower wouldn't drain properly so after getting our of the shower we had to re-wash our feet from outside the tub.

   I was never in a hotel before where after walking around on the carpet or bare floor areas, I left black footprints on a towel that was on the floor.

   The area where our room was located had outdoor entrances but the ice machine was inside another part of the hotel with inside hallways. When I went to fill my ice bucket I was nearly overcome by the stench of stale smoke in tha hallway.

   On our third night, we got back to the room at around 11pm and found that housekeeping had removed our used towels and left us just ONE hand towel. When we called down to the front desk we were casually told that they didn't have any more. When we expressed our disbelief that a hotel can run out of towels, we were told that we would have to talk to the night desk clerk who was due to arrive in about 15 - 20 minutes. When I called back the new desk clerk told me that they had to close some rooms so they could get us towels and I could come down to pick them up. She didn't offer to bring the up to our third floor room. When I got to the front desk, I was greeted by a rather nasty clerk.

   This is a filthy property and I would recommend that everyone stay away. Considering what I've heard about other La Quintas, I can only assume that they are all the same and this has to be from an extremely poor training program.

   Again.....stay away!!
