Michael Naso an attorney in Irvine California ripped me off for at least 40,000. I hired this lawyer to handle a civil litigation lawsuit and he assured me I had a case and I spent more than 40,000 in legal expenses associated with this lawsuit. Michael Naso assured me in numerous emails and conversations that I had a a very strong case only to find out down the line my case had no merit and should have never been filed in the 1st place.
The case was dismissed with Naso collecting 40,000 and all the while lying to me on several occasions that I would be paid back when the case concluded. He blackmailed me into dismissing my case by telling me if I didn't dismiss it after I had more than 40,000 in legal expenses the court would order me to pay the other sides fees. This was not true since in a meeting with the judge in chambers he said this was not true, but I likely couldn't pursue my case.
The judge even told Naso this on several instances in legal answers and face to face with me present, but Michael Naso never told me for fear I would want to drop the case, and he wouldn't be getting paid. He lied to me countless times, did not even research my case at all, made numerous errors in most of his legal work, and made bogus claims to me all the while telling me I could go forward with my case, only to find out from the judge face to face far down the road after incuring huge legal expenses, It would be dismissed and the judge told Naso face to face with me present he should have told me this a long time ago to avoid expenses.
Naso filed the case and lied to me about it because he admitted he was desperate for cash and flat broke. He drove a 25 year old car that could barely run, has been a lawyer for 20 years, yet claimed he was indigent on several instances. Naso even said he did not even have enough gas money to make it to the hearings.
He cussed me out numerous times by email and phone and used horrific profanity and threatening emails to me on several occasions. Naso, also claimed phony legal expenses that I found out were completely bogus that he made up to pocket more money. I will be contacting the State Bar of California with little expectations I will recoup any money. I have spoken to several people on the street who tell me the same thing about this attorney. The worst experience of my life by far.

Laughable distortion of the truth

LOL, Michael Naso's response is the most laughable absurd pack of lies it's hilarious. As far as me being a "meth head" as Michael Naso states (which should be removed by the ripoff administrator) I look very much like a choirboy and have been told this many times. I am the last person in the entire world you would ever think would be a "meth head" as Naso states. I am a young looking man who appears at least 8-10 years younger than my actual age and have never used any sort of drugs in my entire life, not even once. His reponses are just so ridiculous and so far from the truth, you wonder who he's responding to in his response.
Furthermore, as far as Michael Naso stating he heard me "snorting something in the bathroom" again this comment should be removed by the rip off administrator. It's downright slander. I went to the bathroom while we had lunch and as I entered the stall there were 2 LAPD officer both using the urinal right next to me. They happened to be talking football as we went back and forth on a few one liners(as I used the urinal) about our favorite team. All in good natured laughs.
All three of us(the LAPD officers) then washed our hands at the same time, and returned to our seats in the resturant(they sat one booth over from us). Keep in mind we were directly across from the LA Superior court at this lunch, so naturally it according to the officers is a lunchtime hangout. Naso's slanderous outrageous lies are nothing but a absurd delusional response to a case he has grossly and blatantly lied to me about and I had 75,000 in legal fees when the case never should have been filed in the 1st place. Let me remind you the judge told me this face to face in chambers. The judge also questioned why I (the client) was not told this.
Michael Naso, even by his own emails admits the case was filed with no merit whatsoever, yet I had more than 75,000 in legal cost. We sued the defendent for 3 million dollars for god sakes. 3 million US dollars. I did not receive 100,000. In Michael Naso's email he states "the client agreed to accept 100,000 for full and final settlement of his claims. This was an amazing settlement in light of the facts and law related to the case" I did not receive 100,000 or 60,000 and even he admits the facts in the case and laws do not support me receiving a sizable settlement. Why didn't he tell me this before I spent 75,000 in legal fees? Remember, I sued this defendent for 3 million dollars expecting to receive at least half that. If I knew my case had no merit to begin with, why would I spend 75,000 in legal fees? Even in his last sentence, he says he put "60,000 in my pocket that I would not have had otherwise" So what is he saying I should have gotten nothing? I didn't get 60,000 anyways and had 75,000 in cost. So how did i come out ahead? Naso is saying even in his own rebuttal that I didn't have a case. Yet, again I spent 75,000 in fees. The judge ruled there was no case law that supported my case and the judge also said my lawyer should have told me this many many months ago so I wouldn't run up my legal bills. He never did and that's why I'm writing this. Michael Naso also lost nearly round in legal rulings which is the reason the case was dismissed. He sued just to collect legal cost and knew my case had no merit yet wanted to bill me as long as possible to cllect as much as he could.
In addition, I asked him if he had malpractice insurance and he stated he had just purchased it. Yet, when i tried to sue him for malpractice I found out he didn't have it at all.

I can prove each allegation in this report is a lie

This client threatened to bad mouth me all over the internet if I did not reduce my contingency fee on his business litigation case. I refused to be extorted and refused to reduce my fee. He then started writing false and slanderous allegations about me on the net. Although I can prove every allegation in his ripoff report is false, anyone can state anything on ripoff report without consequence and ripoff report will not take down the report.
My relationship with this worst of all possible clients deteriorated after I confronted him about his drug use. I heard this client snorting something in the bathroom when I took him to lunch after a settlement conference. He then refused lunch because he said he was on a diet. I thereafter sent him an email explaining why he should take a very good offer to settle his case considering he made a poor witness on his own behalf. The client did not like my blunt but honest evaluation of him as a witness.
Thereafter, the client agreed to accept $100,000.00 for full and final settlement of his claims. This was an amazing settlement in light of the facts and law related to the case. The lawyer that represented the defendants stated the following:
“Seeing as I thought his case was worthless, you got him infinitely more than his case was worth. He should count his blessings. Probably the biggest windfall he’ll ever see.” Unfortunately, the settlement agreement contained a confidentiality clause which prevents me from revealing the name of the client or the defense attorney.
Below are the clients false claims against me. My response to each claim is in italics:
Michael Naso an attorney in Irvine California ripped me off for at least 40,000. Absolute lie
After this client agreed to pay me $7,000.00 for legal research which he never paid, he convinced me to take his case on a contingency basis. I settled his case and took $40,000.00 in fees as I was entitled to do under our retainer agreement.
I hired this lawyer to handle a civil litigation lawsuit and he assured me I had a case and I spent more than 40,000 in legal expenses associated with this lawsuit. Absolute lie
Per the clients own admission in an email to me he admits he was out of pocket only $1,045.00:
“I have a request which is I spent 395.00 to file the lawsuit and another 650.00 to hire that hedge fund consultant out of my own pocket. His services as you specifically said were excellent and instrumental in doing your discovery. That's 1,045 dollars out of my pocket. You refused to lower your fee and taking out 40 percent and having me pay those cost in absurdly high for the dollar figure I'm collecting.”
Michael Naso assured me in numerous emails and conversations that I had a very strong case only to find out down the line my case had no merit and should have never been filed in the 1st place. Absolute lie. The defendants would not have paid out $100,000.00 if the case had no merit. The defendants litigated the case for over a year and could not get the court to dismiss it because the case had merit when it was filed.
The case was dismissed with Naso collecting 40,000 and all the while lying to me on several occasions that I would be paid back when the case concluded. Absolute lie.
The case was settled and I collected my fee per a retainer agreement as required by law. The client agreed to pay all costs after he failed to pay me $7,000.00 in fees he was supposed to pay me under our first retainer agreement.
He blackmailed me into dismissing my case by telling me if I didn't dismiss it after I had more than 40,000 in legal expenses the court would order me to pay the other sides fees. Absolute lie
This guy had no legal fees whatsoever until we settled the case and he never paid the legal fees out of his own pocket. They came from the settlement. I did advise that if he lost the case the court could order him to pay the defendants’ costs and possibly their fees as well. I would have committed malpractice if I did not advise him of the consequences of losing his case.
Absolute lie. There were numerous motions related to this case which my office prevailed on because of our research. The Judge never stated the case would be dismissed. This meth head is just making things up. He had not paid one dime in legal fees when we went before the Judge at a settlement conference.
Although I used to drive a 93 Lexus and I have been an attorney for 24 years, the rest of this is BS.
He cussed me out numerous times by email and phone and used horrific profanity and threatening emails to me on several occasions. Naso, also claimed phony legal expenses that I found out were completely bogus that he made up to pocket more money.
Although this addict and I cussed each other out on several occasions like when he tried to extort me to lower my fees I never threatened him. The rest of this is BS.
I will be contacting the State Bar of California with little expectations I will recoup any money. I have spoken to several people on the street who tell me the same thing about this attorney. The worst experience of my life by far." This idiot doesn’t even know any of my former clients. He is upset with me even though I put $60,000 into his pocket he would not have otherwise.
