Lease Finance Group, a division of CIT has been nothing but rude and unprofessional to us every time we've communicated. We've been hung up on countless times and talked to with complete disregard for respect EVERY PHONE CALL. When we asked if they would change the contact person's name to the other person's name who co-signed the original contract they refused. When we asked for them to send us a monthly bill, they told us that sometimes their computer generates bills, sometimes it doesn't.

They called relentlessly every time a bill was due, always asking for the wrong person (rudely) and asking when we were going to pay, (as if we weren't paying our bill regularly) when our only notification of our bill being due was their monthly call, since their computer only printed bills "sometimes". Due to their computer malfunction, they made us pay late fees every payment. We paid on time every month (as on time as we could be, considering we weren't sent monthly bills, and had to go by their phone calls.) We tried calling them many times, only to get conveniently disconnected (hung up on). As of January 2004 they discontinued calling us.

We didn't receive any faxes or mailings from them. Then we received a notification that our personal credit had changed due to the Lease Finance Group reporting our lease as a charge-off (meaning they tried and tried and were unsucessful getting payment from us). Our lease was for our business and was paid for by our business and shouldn't have any affect on our personal finances. We've tried contacting them with their old numbers but their voicemail is full. I looked them up online and got their real number, which is the number listed here and is not the branch that we signed up with.

It is based in Livingston, NJ and the branch we signed up with was based in Chicago, Illinois. I contacted the business located at the Chicago Illinois address (a prominent bank) and they had never heard of Lease Finance Group and had never seen them in their building. We just got a new contact number today for a manager and are awaiting a call back.

File your Report with FTC

Hi,
You may want to sent a complaint to FTC (Federal Trade Commission) . I did and received a response saying they don't do individual cases. However, if they log enough complaints, they will start an investigation and possibly legal action. So here is the link: https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01 to the FTC complaint form. I've told many people about it, so you may want to do the same. Make sure you give specific examples or even let them know you have documentation of deceptive or misleading information. Also, if possible, please scan & send copies of these documents to me at [DELETED]. I haven't given up, but it does take a while for the squeaky wheel to be heard.

As far as CIT, here is their main site: http://www.cit.com/main/default.htm . Also, within this site, I found e-mails and have sent copies of my rip-off report, including a copy of all the complaints listed under Lease Finance Group in the Rip-Off site. Here are some e-mail addresses, you may want to send your concerns to: investor.relations@cit.com, corpcomm@cit.com, directors@cit.com,

I did get the Rip-Off Report Do-It-Yourself Guide and it did have some good steps to follow. However, it was a little lacking in the cyberspace rip-offs. I've been paralleling the thoughts or ideas in this Guide to try to apply them to the internet. For example, instead of sending faxes, send e-mails. So every web site I am interested in, I look for e-mails and make up a group listing & start bombarding them with e-mails and include my rip-off report, plus any other rip-off concerns.

I hope this helps. Thanks, G for California
