My husband used our credit card to call me from a pay phone in Fremont California. We spoke for two minutes, and he was told the fee would be 75 cents. Instead, we got two charges on our card, one for $25 and another a few days later for $12.39.
I contacted the company to dispute the overcharge and they required me to call their directory assistance line for a further $6. So I went online and found their regular business office contact. The person I spoke to was entirely rude and of no help whatsoever, so I called my bank. After getting no help from the bank, and a host of nonsufficient funds fees, I called Consumer affairs.
The California Department of Consumer Affairs advised me to call the California Public Utilities Commission and file a complaint with them and with my county district attorney. I am in the process of doing this now. Meanwhile, I found the ripoff report from Shalisha and Alma and thought I would offer some new information.
Call and complain to the PUC and your county district attorney if you have not yet received satisfaction. The information to get the PUC follows:
send a copy of phone bill or bank statement to PUC with a written dispute.
CPUC
Attn Consumer Affairs Bureau
505 Van Ness Ave
San Francisco, CA 94102
Fax 415.703.1158
Online Dispute
www.cpuc.ca.gov/static/forms/complaints/index.htm
If the PUC doesn't help you, go to the Federal Communication Commission and file a complaint there. The website to the FCC is http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints_general.html.
Good luck! Also, if you would like further information about how to fight this company and get your money back, please reply with your secure contact information and I will be happy to call and help you out further.

After posting this information for others harmed by Legacy, we followed our own advice and fought back ... and WON! We have our money back and Legacy is under investigation by the PUC and the FCC for fraudulent billing practices.
See? You can fight the system and win with the right weapons. I hope the outcome of your fights work as well as ours did. Good luck!
