I stayed at Liki Tiki Resort with my family in November. They were aware the doors were not closing and acknowledged both management and staff acknowledges that fact. Someone (I am sure one of the staff who knew of the issue) went into the dirty dingy disgusting room -- that were given, after spending almost an hour at the front desk trying to figure out why we weren't on the check-in list after speaking with three different representatives three days prior to arriving -- and stole over $4.5k in personal property including my work computer.

Hotel management handled the situation so badly, until finally their head of security Brent Burgess was advised of the situation, only after I threatened to sue and get the media involved. He apologized profusely, assured me that he would ensure that I be reimbursed for my stolen property.

Upon my return to NY, their entire story changed. Their insurance company sent me a letter that I did not notify management. I have recorded information of my conversation with Brent, as well as of the voicemail left by another manager Mike. I also have the hotel log with my conversation with several individuals (I am still working on getting everything on tape so I could upload it to you tube). They indicated that they would not reimburse me for the stolen item. After my persistence, the insurance company sent me another letter stating that they will compensate me $500...replacing the keys to my jeep was $450. How freaking insulting.

I have sent email to everyone in senior level management (see names below), and only one person responded to say she was not the right person, but she will forward it along and perform the necessary follow up. They have done nothing. I have spoken to several attorneys here in NY, however because of the dollar value of my loss, from a financial standpoint it doesn't make sense to take the case on. Each of the attorneys has told me that the only reason these unscrupulous people are doing this is because they know it is a multi-state issue, and the chances of an attorney taking on this case for this dollar value is small.

The hotel and its entire management are criminals. I will be sure to continue to make people aware of these people on every website and other public outlet that I can, because they should not be allowed to get away with this. There is no question why the staff was so horrible, because if upper level management in so unscrupulous how can we expect any better from the staff. This hotel puts you and your family in danger...imaging what could have happened if that criminal walked in while were in the room.

This is the management team of Island One that an email was sent to, and no one responded.
