Company reported a failure to deliver package (shipping paid for by company shipping merchandise) due to no one being at residence to receive package. An absolute lie - I was home all day (live in isolated rural area) in my chair in front of picture window facing driveway; also have 5 indoor dogs that alert me if anyone pulls up to my house. There was no attempt made on 8/8/27/14.
Called DHL to report false report of attempted deliver. Was told it would be delivered the next day on 8/28/14 and verified address for shipment was the physical address since the address would not map on GPS - gave contact # for directions for driver.
Package not delivered on 8/28/14 called DHL (talked to George) and was told I should not have told it would be delivered the next day it would not be delivered until 8/29/14. Again verified physical address and contact number. Was guranteed by George the package would be delivered - without fail on 8/29/14 - he would persoanally see to it. Discussed that the package was jewelry I needed for an advertised sale on Labor Day - that failure to receive package would result in loss of finances. Again reassured package would be delivered.
At 8am on 8/29/14 received a call from Lone Star Overnight delivery service in Amarillo, TX asking for directions to physical address - gave directions for delivery for 8/29/14. At 4:30pm called lone star overnight and asked how late I was to epect the delivery. I was told at that point that the driver didn't receive the email directions in time to make the delivery on 8/29/14. The package would be delivered on 9/2/14 the day after Labor Day and a day late for my sale. I was very irate and demanded a manager get involved. Was told they would try to arrange a Saturday 8/30/14 delivery and would call me by 5pm to verify.
I called DHL and made another complaint and was told LSO was diligently trying to make a Saturday delivery arrangement.
At 5:30pm I received a call from LSO and was told the Saturday 8/30/14 delivery was impossible. but I was offered the option of driving to Amarillo, TX (a 6 hour round trip drive and over 300 miles) and picking up ,my package at my own expense and they were "kind enough to say the manager would arrange to meet me at their office whatever time I could make it". I declined this option due to the considerable expense on my part and the fact that this company contracted with DHL to provide delivery services to this area - no matter how rural and it is not my problem that they now find the distance and location an inconvenience to them and find their offer to "pick it up myself" an insult and ridiculously poor customer service
