to start off i will  join a class action law suit against Clayton homes. i have been dealing with them to fix my home for over seven years now. i gave them plenty of time to fix or replace my home.

shortly after i purchased my home it started giving me problems raining in the vents, raining in the walls, doors not closing, water in a/c vents, water leaking on electrical box on furnace,  mold, etc. hired lawyer (David Lamn) to get this resolved. one thing i learned from lawyer is document everything and take lots of pictures.

saa inspector (Sammy hoover), Clayton homes (price bourgeois), luv homes, contractor and  lawyer came to do inspection. they blamed it on the a/c coils being dirty. was asked how often i suck water out of the a/c vents. then was told i don't do it often enough. wow never had to suck water out of a/c vents in all my life till now. passing the buck huh?

saa inspectors report stated. coils where stopped up this will cause unit to condensate and drip water onto floor and into belly of the home causing condensation problems throughout the home. he asked the dealer as a courtesy for them to have there a/c guy make sure nothing was overlooked.

a/c man from southwest, inc came out and said same thing. dirty coils. when asked to make copy of his report for my records. discovered a sticky note stating " please say nothing to customer and state inspector ready to close case".

due to financial issues i couldn't proceed with the lawsuit. lawyer did send letter stating "i strongly encourage you to find counsel that will represent your claim". reported them to better business bureau. doing research on manufactured housing divisions regulations.

hired contractor to fix the issues of raining in my walls. contractor stated rain was leaking off face plate and under siding. which there was no tyvex rapping under siding to protect wood. he fixed it and hasn't rain since.

hired a/c man to come clean dirty coils. well my a/c guy tells me it's the drain pan. he fixed it and till this day haven't had to suck water out of vents.

feeling like i got the shaft. i decided to give luv homes one more chance to make it good. sent them a email saying i wanted my home fixed or i would contact tv stations. i got a response. they sent their contracted contractor (ray tucker) over. he went straight to my siding under windows and found mold and rotten boards. wrote down stuff and said he was going to fix everything that was wrong with my home to my liking. by the way i had witnesses.

contractor (ray tucker) came and started repairing home. yes i made it my business to watch them repair my home. in the process i was told my a/c cabinet and my floors would get fixed also. still waiting. in the process of my home being repair had to what a week for contractor to repair someone else home before it went to litigation. what i did get is 4 rooms in my home with one wall different color from the rest. one reciptical in little girls room is lower than all the rest. molding missing on inside windows.

Lorraine from Waco 1 left me a message to see if everything was fixed. asked if contractor was coming back and fix floors and a/c cabinet. was told no that wasn't the plan. maybe you should go over the plan with the contractor. i was told my floors and my a/c cabinet would be repaired and i want them to stick to their word!

oh did i mention Susan (manager of luv homes in new Iberia) said this has been going on long enough its time this gets taken care of. besides its a manufacture defect. wow finally got someone from the company to admit it. glad lawyer taught me to document everything. only problem is i haven't heard from Susan in 3 weeks and no contractor at my house doing repairs either.

so im going on to contact TV stations and anyone and everyone to get this story out. i just wanted my home fixed. now i'm out for pain and suffering, loss work, and a new home or my money back. i will fight this till the day i die. i and a lot of other people where done wrong by luv homes and Clayton homes. now its time someone fixes this. the bigger they are the harder they fall. they already lost a lawsuit this year with the tires and axles.

I've been in retail for 15 years and every place I've every worked the customer comes first. if you have a complaint you better fix it or you get fired. well there is a few i would fire. i could go on considering I've been dealing with this for seven years. please feel free to contact me with any questions.

The first thing I would do if I were you is contact your local attorney general's office. Make sure you can mail him/her a pack of all your documentation including lots of pictures. FYI: if he/she sees a valid case they will represent you at no cost unless you lose for some wierd reason. Call the news papers and anyone else that will listen especially the BBB.
