lynanne binstock borrowed money from me, and desided not to pay me back LaPort, Indiana

I was helping my best friend. S he called me crying and asked me if I would lend her 2000.00 just for a few months, or they were going to loose there home. we  have been friends for over 60 years. My husband had passed away in 2010, and she got me at my worst. I was depressed and just devastated over the loss of my husband. So she thought she could get me, and she did.
I went to my bank and got her a bankers check for 2000.00. We have talked on the phone at lease 2-3 times every 2 weeks, she promised me she would return my money as soon as they received there insurance check, from a fire at there home in Michigan Indiana. They now live in LaPorte Indiana. ore talking on the phone was getting shorter and shorter. soon it was me calling and leaving messages, but never received a call back from her.

I have wrote her several letters, but still nothing from here.  I have my prof  of the bankers check, I have every letter I had sent her, so please, where is our justice here. She takes my 2000.00 and never contacts me again?  I live on my SS check every month, I should have never done this, but like I said, she got me at my lowest, I never in a million years thought she would ever do this to me, but she did.  So please, I can't afford to go to court over this, I cant afford to sue her, but it is my money, how can she get by with this, where is our justice?  I have all my prof, I can send you a copy of everything, please help me.
